  Summary:

Molecular Devices a commercial and a manufacturing operation in China. The company is now expanding its product development capabilities in China to address the unique needs of the Chinese market. To accelerate this we are opening the position of China Market Development Manager

The position is plays a pivotal role in driving the strategy for China centric product development and is part of the China Operations Leadership Team that drives new product introduction cadence and innovation. The candidate will work with the global product marketing teams and is a ”dotted line” member of an global R&D and Product Management team.

The right candidate is able to assess the Chinese Market, identify opportunities drive product development to further grow the position of Molecular Devices in this market.

Skills and Specifications:

• Exhibits demonstrated expert knowledge of China Life Sciences Research Market
• Experienced in strategy and business development
• Able to manage complex portfolio assessments and derive proposals for product development
• Has demonstrated cross functional communication skills. Able to work with multiple sites in multiple geographies
• Is results driven
• Effectively communicates (verbal and written) new insight and ideas with cross-functional team in Chinese and English.
• Efficiently works under pressure and deadlines, and works to complete assigned tasks on time and on budget.
• Able to respond to changes in process, responsibility, or assignment quickly without losing sight of the overall goal.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Self-confident and self-aware personality.
• Metrics-driven individual that thinks about measurement of progress

Key Objectives and tasks:

• Excellent strategic thinker ( knows how to create a data and VoC driven strategy)
• Manage the product development roadmap for China
• Analyze and monitor markets through segmentation, market research and customer insights
• Manage the monthly project reviews and quarterly portfolio reviews for China
• Lead the business case reviews prior to portfolio change requests or toll gates
• Create Key Opinion Leader network
• Negotiate deals with third parties
• Manage the implementation of DBS tools (Visual project management, Innovation cadence, etc)

Qualifications:

• BS. or Ms degree in bioscience
• Prefer 5-7 years experience in Life Sciences market in China
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of time
