The Senior Business Intelligence & Data Mining Engineer will shape the strategy and approach to data insights and mining using engineering, analytical, and communication skills to work with teams across business lines. He/she will build and implement a data mining framework that will support and drive informed business decisions, collaborate with internal teams to use data to improve products and marketing, and achieve KPIs. He/she will also share insights with senior executives and colleagues.

    

    

He/she will be a key team member of Digital Finance Group, which is a diversified financial group focused on digital assets and blockchain technology, at the leading edge of innovation in technology and finance. DFG has offices in Shanghai, San Francisco, and Singapore. This position is based in Shanghai.

    

Responsibilities include:

    

● Design, develop, construct, test and maintain architectures for large-scale data processing systems.

    

● Build high-performance data systems that gather and process raw data at scale to meet functional / non-functional business requirements (including writing scripts, REST API calls, SQL Queries, etc.)

    

● Employ machine learning algorithms to build a risk prediction modelling system.

    

● Lead data mining projects, conducting multidimensional analysis, seeking input and feedback from colleagues, and drawing conclusions and insights.

    

● Utilize best practices and processes to ensure high quality work.

    

● Develop data set processes for data modeling, mining and production.

    

● Train, test, and validate data models to create precise and reliable models.

    

● Establish a long-term strategy for business insights and data analytics.

    

    

Qualifications:

    

● Masters’ degree or above in computer, mathematics, statistics, finance, or related field

    

● 3+ years related work experience in data mining or machine learning.

    

● Proficiency with API/frameworks in the Data mining space, such as TensorFlow for AI, Hadoop, etc.

    

● Proficiency in machine learning algorithms (or practice of optimization theory and

    

methods), skilled use of tools such as R/.

    

Matlab/Python/SQL.

    

● Outstanding problem analysis ability and problem-solving ability, self-driven, innovative, and good communication and coordination ability.

    

● Experience in petabyte scale data environments and integration of data from multiple diverse sources.

    

    

Preferred Qualifications:

    

● NoSQL experience a plus

    

● 3+ years of managing a team of engineers, data scientists and/or data analysts

    

● Experienced in working collaboratively across different teams and departments

    

● Knowledge and experience of financial markets, banking or exchanges
