Job Title: Job status: Sourcing Manager, Mid-Market Castings Procurement China Permanent BA: Consumables BA Metallic Supply Chain Reports to: VP. Castings Procurement Location: China or other Metso main location

JOB STATEMENT

Responsible for building, managing and developing Mid-Market castings procurement in China and Asia of finished products from external suppliers, including all activities in the sourcing and technical qualification (fit to purpose) functions. This will incorporate liaising with suppliers to ensure the supply and availability of finished goods are at optimal prices and meet fit to purpose quality requirements in order to maximize cost competitiveness and meet market demand.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages procurement of Mid-Market products in China and Asia in a cost and fit to purpose manner
• Strong follow-up of external cost evolution triggers and market trends for proper communication within the company
• Through close collaboration with PL prepare an all-encompassing procurement strategy for Mid-Market products in China and Asia.
• Interact with regional and global management and procurement personnel to ensure compliance to BA strategies and objectives for Mid-Market.
• Negotiate with vendors and suppliers of agreed materials for cost reductions and delivery schedules utilising initiatives such as consignment stock agreements etc.
• Act in the identification of continuous improvement of costs in the suppliers, continuously evaluating conditions and feasibility to demand improvements on price and service delivered.
• Build, manages and optimizes supplier distribution and logistics.
• Manages global commercial and legal compliance to Metso standards, policies and procedures.
• Manages Mid-Market supplier base and implement appropriate KPI’s (product lead-time, quality fit to purpose levels, delivery accuracy level).

• Ensures vendors protect Metso confidential information through preparing contract agreements.

• Travel required locally up to 50% of time annually.

AUTHORITY

Authorized to manage, develop, define, and implement the procurement strategy for Mid-Market products as directed and within guidelines as established by the direct management and Metso policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Recognised degree in relevant field.

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in global purchasing and contract negotiation.

• Valid passport for international travel and driver’s license for local travel must be maintained.

• Strong analytical skills. A bias for action and detail-oriented behaviors are required.

• Ability to collect data & information to make strategic analysis & recommendations.

• A high level of computer skills is essential – Excel, Word, Power Point etc.

• Strong financial performance: optimized supplier costs and performance results. Cost and performance vs. industry standards and competitors.

• Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet the deadlines.

• Strong communication skills in English

• Ability to work in a team atmosphere.

• Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-language atmosphere.

• Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast paced environment.

• Strong communication, co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills.

• Ability to travel frequently.
