1. Rigging and setting up of lighting, setting up of sound equipment, acquiring and setting up props, masking etc. on stage, organising get-ins and get-outs, safe operation of equipment.
2. Construction and decoration of stage sets and props to meet customer requirements and safety standards.
3. Safety, inspection, maintenance, refurbishment and repair of lighting, sound and stage equipment, including overhead gantries and lifting equipment.
4. Co-ordination of Portable electrical Appliance Testing of theatre appliances.
5. Providing advice to the PA teachers regarding the procurement of new technical equipment.
6. Preparation, monitoring, managing, controlling and reporting of delegated budgets.
7. Keeping all technical paperwork, plans, equipment registers, show reports up to date with marking system used to identify equipment belonging to the theatre.
8. Creation and review of Risk Assessments wherever appropriate and communication of updated safety news to all concerned. To ensure that all controls and other actions prescribed by a risk assessment are implemented and maintained.
9. To attend departmental and other meetings as required.
10. To maintain secure and tidy storage of all technical equipment.
11. To maintain equipment inventories.
12. To carry out regular visual inspections of technical installations.
13. Reporting all defects, accidents and incidents in accordance with School policies and procedures.
14. Meeting with users and show producers to understand their technical requirements and maintaining close liaison and monitoring of their activities.
15. Providing appropriate basic technical training and oversight to other theatre users, including volunteers, contractors and pupils assisting with presentations.
16. To provide advice and assistance for other School events, concerts, presentations etc. being held elsewhere in the School, outside of the theatre

Qualifications

Good general education and appropriate technical or professional qualifications or training, or qualified by experience.

    

Recent and appropriate qualification or training in Health and Safety - desirable.

    

Thorough understanding and appreciation of:

1. Working at height

2. Safe use of ladders

3. Use of hydraulic platforms

4. Use and storage of pyrotechnics

5. Manual handling

6. Use of lighting and sound boards/mixers and stage cues

7. Smoke/dry-ice machines

    

First Aid trained (or be prepared to undergo training).

    

Language: Native Chinese speaker and good English

    Support Huili values.
