General Foreman

A Global Group of Specialist Concrete Flooring Contractors is looking for a General Foreman for its Shanghai office. The successful applicant must have experience with Concrete works, preferably in the Industrial Flooring Industry.

Job Description

Reporting to the Operations/ Project Manager, the position will be site based in China for short term contracts, although some overseas travel and office work may be required.

Position will require management and co-ordination of a project team including Technicans, Sub-Contractors and General Labour to complete short terms contracts to the highest possible standard and within strict specification, programme and budget constraints. Although the primary duty will be supervision, some hands on surveying and field work will be required. The job will require direct communication with the Employer at site, including settlement of any contractual issues. Secondary duties will include management of the company store and inventory, maintenance of specialist equipment and technical support to the Sales and Marketing division as required.

Job Requirements:

? More than 5 years of experience in a similar position with a Specialist Contractor or a Main Contractor
?Experience with an Industrial Flooring Contractor, Specialist Concrete Contractor or Paving Contractor is preferable
? Must be able to communicate in English
? Must be able to multi-task and work under pressure
? Good leadership skills are essential
? Must have excellent communication and people skills, and be a Team player
? Must be able and willing to train and develop sub-ordinates
?The successful candidate will be pro-active, flexible, responsible and decisive, with good problem solving skills
