EnergyICT, a part of the Elster Group, is an international company focused on providing information communication technology and service solutions to companies seeking to capture, analyze and visualize energy consumption. EnergyICT is based in Belgium but with subsidiary offices in a number of other countries, and working closely with Elster staff based in Germany.


EnergyICT is focused on two principle business areas. Firstly our Smart Grid Solutions team which, with our parent company Elster, provides meter data management and data collection solutions to utilities worldwide in support of their Smart Metering programmes; and secondly our Energy Management Solutions team which offers integrated data capture and data management services for multi-site commercial users of energy and Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).


EnergyICT is seeking to build its development team in both the areas of Smart Grid Solutions and Energy Management. As part of this we are seeking an application engineer. Positions are based in Kortrijk, Belgium.


Job description
+ You'll be part of a virtual project team delivering end 2 end solutions to our customers, in the area of smarter grid and energy management solutions.
+ Delivery activities cover both new greenfield installations as well as upgrading existing solutions to add new functionalities and features.
+ You will be responsible for the development of custom specific interfaces and customer specific reports in line with specifications agreed with the customer, the project manager and the functional analyst of the virtual project team.
+ Project related activities cover : technical design, development/programming (JAVA), configuration, testing, user acceptance testing, training, documentation...
+ Part of your role will be assigned to supporting and troubleshooting delivered solutions after project completion. This activity will be done according to the functional guidelines set forward as part of the Specialised Customer Service Desk Team



Qualifications/Education
+ Bachelor or master degree in informatics / Bachelor or master degree in electronics, electricity, ICT or equivalent
+ Minimum 0 to 4 years of operational experience
+ Good knowledge of Java and related technologies and tools (Maven, SVN, Jira,...)
+ You have excellent communication skills
+ You speak and write fluently English
+ Experience in IT infrastructure is an asset
+ Basic knowledge of Oracle is an asset.
