Key Account Manager for our Sales Team in Shanghai


Job Purpose:

Responsible for selling the services of the Company at new and existing customers according to the set targets in the Sales plan in order to increase business activities and revenue from new leads and existing market segments and channels.


Key Accountabilities:

1. SHEQ & Compliance:

  • Responsible for making sure that all own activities are in compliance with Company's SHEQ-standards, policies, instructions and local legislation.

2. Strategy & KAM Objectives

  • Develops a clear vision of what needs to be accomplished in the medium and short term, based upon understanding of the external and competitive environment and the company's strengths.
  • Responsible for producing and communicating actionable business plans (incl. measurable targets) in order to implement the defined strategy.
3. Sales & Business Development
  • Achieving sales & business development objectives as set out in the annual sales plan for self and/or sales team.
  • Giving input for the composition of the annual sales plan
  • Proactively and effectively finding, approaching and developing new markets/customers.
  • Responsible for processing applications and preparation of calculations and offers in response to incoming requests
  • Responsible for the preparation of clear quotes and the follow up with clients after submittal until award or lost status.
  • Drafting of framework agreements for clients in accordance with the established sales guidelines
  • Makes special efforts to fill gaps in equipment planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of Company's equipment, its possibilities, the clients current infrastructure and needs for lifting and transportation services, in order to become the clients’ most trusted and knowledgeable advisor on our services.
4. Market data analysis
  • Collects and interprets all available and relevant customer/market data, analyses the clients’ needs and demands in order to optimize existing products and services and communicate this to the management
  • Follows, investigates and pro-actively addresses market dynamics, developments and trends.
5. Relationship management
  • Effectively represents the Company, builds new and maintains existing relationships with customers and other stakeholders, focusing on expanding our customer base.
  • Pro-actively reports relevant customer and other sales data in CRM, analyzes sales pipeline and defines appropriate actions for self.
6. Contract management
  • Reviews all their (draft) Sales contracts in accordance with Company's Authorization Chart, for feasibility, prices, timelines, liabilities, risks, legal compliance, etc. with the management and relevant functionalities, e.g. Operations, Technical Solutions, Legal.
7. Sales follow-up and hand over
  • Ensures that the quotes/orders, including all necessary information, are transferred to the Operation Manager in a timely manner for further action.
  • Provides appropriate after-sales support to customers.
8. Sales Invoicing
  • Closely liaises with Finance/Accounts Receivable for the projects with regard to validating of invoices, settlement of deductions, prompt payment realizations, collections.

Job Requirements:
  1. Chinese national
  2. Bachelor’s degree or above in technical discipline
  3. Technical knowledge on ballasting, barges, crane lifting, jacking, skidding, weighing, SPMT in particular.
  4. 8-10 years’ experience in all-round technical sales function with international companies. Have proven experiences in civil engineering, nuclear power sector, port, offshore wind transportation and installation, oil, gas & petrochemical, marine and shipbuilding industry.
  5. Good relationship with target client, governmental/state owned organizations will be an advantage
  6. General IT-skills: Microsoft office applications, CRM database.
  7. Fluent in English, speaking/writing and understanding.
  8. Intensive travelling involvements, both domestic and international.
  9. Driving license
