Your Tasks:

 As the head of our local purchasing department you are mainly responsible for all purchasing activities based in China. You function as the management interface to the VON ARDENNE headquarters in terms of purchasing operations and tactical development. Driven by a demanding customer environment, you also take a strong stake in optimizing our local supply chain and related processes. You bring in your knowledge of the domestic market-environments and the supplier base. Driving down costs and developing a performing, high quality supply chain base are in your key focus.

 Your responsibilities include:

• leading the local purchasing team by coordinating purchasing processes as supplier orders, quality assurance, contracts and supplier negotiations,

• making sure that the sourcing for customer projects runs in time, at expected quality and cost,

• conducting supplier qualification as well as driving continuous supplier development and relationship management,

• monitoring the supplier performance and tracking results with appropriate KPI’s,

• supporting your local management and the headquarter by designing and setting up appropriate supply chain solutions from a total cost perspective,

• aligning and optimizing your local sourcing approach on operational and tactical level and implementing the central guidelines pragmatically,

• establishing appropriate communication channels to suppliers and to the headquarter.

 Skills and qualifications:

 You have at least a bachelor or bachelor equivalent degree in supply chain related and/or with engineering background and have a minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar role.

 Furthermore:

• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and you are able to negotiate with suppliers and other business partners,
• you understand the manufacturing process and have equipment manufacturing experience,
• you must be organized with the ability to define your priorities,
• you must be pro-active and customer oriented,
• you have good oral and written English and Chinese communication skills; optionally German,
• you consider travelling as intrinsic part of your job.

 You have a working knowledge of:

• Purchasing management and processes,

• setting up of a domestic supply chain,

• a sound knowledge of Chinese Suppliers and government regulation in mechanical engineering or manufacturing equipment building industries,

• logistics for domestics and international shipments (importing/exporting),

• and good understanding of utilizing ERP-Systems (e.g. KingDee, SAP) for optimizing purchasing processes.

VON ARDENNE GmbH develops and manufactures advanced coating equipment for the deposition of micrometer to nanometer-thin functional layers on materials such as glass, metal strip, wafers and polymer films.

Located in Songjiang Industrial Zone with an area of more than 3000 m2, VON ARDENNE VACUUM EQUIPMENT Shanghai Ltd. is the only wholly-owned subsidiary of VON ARDENNE GmbH (Germany) in China. The main business of the subsidiary includes sales activities for architectural glass coating, PV and related equipment, service and spare parts sales, support for project installations and the commissioning of VON ARDENNE coating systems.
