II. Key Responsibilities
The role will focus on electronic hardware architect and delivering sustainable even strategically innovation to fulfill Asia Pacific R&D team and ensure R&D support long term growth of APEX Tool Group by creating technology and innovation leadership in the market.
- Lead multiple project teams and internal and outsourced partners responsible for all stages of development for a portfolio of complex products and platforms, including experience/ information architecture, validation, and specifications.
- Take the lead in defining the product & platform electronic roadmaps for the product portfolio he is in charge, define the new platform system architecture, esp. during the feasibility stage
- Responsible for the definition, design, development, release and execution of new product introduction within agreed budget and time constraint, at required standards and following New Product Development Process.
- Establish and manage electronic design projects including schedule, resources, deliverables and reviews, in partnership with design and development programs.
- Focus on the total system design and optimization (top performance, lowest cost price, and world class reliability).
- Establish and maintain excellent architecture on electronic platform design for customers, users, and partners, in partnership with mechanical and ID design and development.
- Take the lead in defining the technology program & feasibility studies required for the roadmap realization.
- Leading and influencing a cross-functional team and key stakeholders from different categories.
- Research, plan and produce holistic design concepts and specifications that optimize the physical design across categories.
- Gain market insights and leveraging them to drive right directions or improve existing platforms.
- Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced partners on electronic design and development.
- Drive innovation and integration of new technologies and electronic design practice into projects and activities in the design organization.
- Identifying gaps and implementing improvements to bring the improvement approaches to a higher level.
- Determination in decision making, flexibility and independence
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members
- Translating commercial, functional specification into design concepts on finish goods level.
- Cooperate with different team on Safeguarding functionality, performance, quality, reliability and manufacturability of products.
- To ensure the most cost-effective architectures are created to allow our products to be cost competitive. Keep update on product development (local and oversea) and enable local complementary partners released close to product marketing introduction and speeding up market penetration.
- To define platform architectures allowing fast creation of new derivatives in order to enable a fast response to new market requirements & developments.
- Develop new solutions, new architectures and/or enhances existing products. Uses analytical and systematic approach for optimal solution. Perform reality checks and appropriate testing. Ensure standardization within product platform and compliances to standards.
III. Requirement
- Master or above in electronic engineering and automation or related major.
- Minimum 10 years of experience on the field of innovation and electrical design as well as architecture definition, roadmap development. Essential to have experience on lead idea generation and concept generation processes.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience to lead a team.
- Strong communication skills (Fluent at least in English), preferably can understand more other languages.
- Minimum 10 years of electrical design experience which to have rich knowledge on analog, component, motor driving, digital, power electronics, power management, lithium battery charging system and inverter etc.
- Very good techniques in quick concept generation, schematic and layout capability is essential skill, must be skillful to use one of simulation tools such as Ltspice, multisim, sabor, Mathcad, matlab or equivalent.
- Experienced skill on worst case analysis, DOE and FMEA.
- Very good review capability of electrical hardware design, preferably good understanding of electrical system architecture, firmware and interface creation.
- Very good techniques in quick concept creation, requirement management, schematic creation, feasibility study, system scenarios buildup, specification generation, system optimization, cost effective analysis, familiar with design guideline, knowledgeable on key components selection like MCU, datacom, memory etc.
- Familiar with safety, compliance and regulatory requirement.
- Have experience of idea and concept generation and processes, preferably as attendees of roadmap development.
- Good experience to develop and coach team members to next level or right positions.
- Preferably, rich electrical hardware design experience of consumer electronics products, tools, domestic appliances etc.
- Preferably, demonstrate that already the Responsibilities listed above.
