POSITION PURPOSE
This Senior Academic Services Officer (Shanghai) is responsible for providing a broad range of administrative services in support of the delivery of UTS programs at SHU-UTS SILC Business School (SILC) in Shanghai under the direction of the Director, UTS Business School Programs (Shanghai). The position is focused on delivering high quality administrative services to UTS staff and students in Shanghai and entails organising and running the UTS Shopfront at SILC, administrative services to the Director and Shanghai-based academic staff, administrative services and travel support for UTS visiting staff, as well as admission, recognition of previous learning and study plan management for international students undertaking programs at SILC.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

? Provide administrative support to the Director, UTS Business School Programs (Shanghai), Shanghai-based academic staff and visiting UTS staff, as necessary;
? Organise and run the UTS Shopfront, including reception duties;
? Provide administrative support for UTS programs at SILC in accordance with the UTS Business School’s and University’s rules, policies and procedures, including admission, orientation, recognition of prior learning, enrolment, progression, assessment and graduation;
? Coordinate the admissions process and act as the main liaison point between UTS International and SILC in relation to processing of applications for admissions;
? Manage and maintain appropriate records relating to student matters and other related teaching and learning issues including subject outlines, examinations, marking and teaching payment forms, assessor forms, etc.;
? Liaise with the Business School Marketing Team, UTS International and the Directors of offshore programs for the course manual for offshore programs;
? Arrange travel itineraries, including flight, accommodation bookings and visas, for academic staff teaching in UTS programs at SILC;
? Other duties and tasks consistent with this classification as required.
Skills and Attributes
? Capacity to develop, implement and monitor compliance with a wide range of administrative policies, systems and procedures
? Demonstrated ability to manage work flows and meet administrative deadlines
? High-level competence in student systems at UTS, or similar
? Capacity to develop, implement and monitor compliance with a wide range of administrative policies, systems and procedures
? Good written and oral communication skills
? Fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) language

Knowledge
? Knowledge of the structure and organisation of tertiary education in Australia and China
? Capacity to develop an understanding of policies and procedures relating to international students
? Knowledge, understanding and commitment to Equity and EH&S principles

Qualifications
? A degree and/or relevant experience

Experience required
Essential
? Proven ability to manage, coordinate and implement administrative procedures that are consistent with the University’s requirements, but maintain sensitivity to cross-cultural differences
? Work effectively to ensure task completion
? Knowledge of, and/or experience with, Chinese education and/or business culture

Desirable
? Experience working in the Chinese education and/or business culture
