Job Description
Job Title: HR Manager, Asia Pacific
Job Location: Shanghai
Reports to: Associate Director Regional HR
Job Purpose Overview:
Being part of an international HR team, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive, pragmatic and customer-focused operational HR support mainly to the Asia Pacific team, covering a wide variety of generalist HR activities with a focus on advising the local management on all HR topics, recruitment, employee relationships, data management, the administration of payroll and benefits, and employment law. The selected person will also work on concepts and strategic projects for the group.

Key Responsibilities:
? Advise local management on all HR topics and HR group policies, and manage employee relations in Asia Pacific
? Act as a principle contact within the AP team with respect to all generalist HR queries and provide guidance and advice on individual employee relations cases
? Manage and conduct all recruitment and selection activities in the AP market
? Gain a thorough understanding of the latest HR trends and market in order to provide appropriate solutions to the relevant business issues
? Actively participate in the development and implementation of organizational-wide global HR concepts, policies, strategic initiatives & projects
? Be part of the local management team, contribute to the local strategy development and implementation
? Support the monthly payroll process with the external payroll vendors, incl. absence management when necessary
? Manage the relationship with external providers and vendors such as legal advisors, recruitment agencies and payroll providers
? In conjunction with the Associate Director, review and maintain best practice (local) HR policies in line with globally consistent standards and specific to local market statutory requirements
? In co-ordination with the Associate Director, monitor all compensation and benefit aspects
? Work with sensitive, confidential and complex information and issues within the business
? Other work may assigned by the supervisor
? International travel is required
? Availability before and after standard working hours and during weekends as needed is required
? Dimensions/ scope
? This position requires fluency in English. Applicants without this qualification will not be considered



Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferably in the area of Human Resource Management or Business Administration
? A minimum of 10 years of progressive HR generalist experience
? Experience in developing HR strategic concepts and policies
? Comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge and understanding of China employment legislation and best practice
? Minimum of 2 years recruiting independently and working knowledge of interview techniques and assessment tools used in the hiring process
? Knowledge of labor relations, grievance and appeal procedures, experience in handling and managing disciplinary cases

Knowledge & Experiences:
? High interest and ability for developing concepts
? Confident and articulate communicator; able to communicate with authority in both writing and verbally
? High level of social sensitivity and cultural awareness with the ability to build successful and collaborative relationships with employees and managers at all levels

Skills & Abilities:
? Ability to analyze complex issues and make sound judgements
? Ability to work in a virtual team and with minimal direction
? Ability to interpret management needs, influence and negotiate; able to work in both a remote and a matrix management environment
? Strong customer-orientation and a willingness to support and understand the business needs and goals
? Excellent time management skills, able to multi-task and prioritize workloads within tight deadlines
? Proactive and energetic, able to ‘think on their feet’
? Profound MS Office skills
