MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
? Evaluate & communicate order status to suppliers.
? Support PO confirmations
? Communicate recommended order changes (i.e. dates, quantities, locations, etc.)
? Manage expedite requests including air freight arrangements
? Manage supplier responses
? Maintain contact with Inventory Analysts and suppliers.
? Monitor supplier shipping performance and work with suppliers for improvement.
? Assist Inventory Replenishment by initiating and maintaining updates and corrections to the key data elements that drive the replenishment system.
? Keep management informed of any scheduling or shipping issues.
? Communicate with freight forwarder on logistics issues and delays around shipments and bookings.
? Demonstrate best practices by developing and managing working relationships with company personnel and supplier contacts to ensure an effective flow of product within the supply chain.
? Identify improvement opportunities in Grainger processes and communicate to appropriate personnel to improve performance quality.
? Provide feedback and guidance as needed to ensure supplier conformance to Grainger performance guidelines and report significant performance issues to the Inventory Managers, Merchandising, or Management.
REQUIREMENTS
? Bachelor Degree, or 1-3 years work-related experience.
? be personal computer (PC) literate and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office such as MS Word, Excel, and Access.
? have communication skills necessary to convey essential information clearly and concisely, both written and verbal, and utilize active listening skills while sharing that information.
? Effective time-management and organizational skills are required to be able to manage multiple tasks concurrently while still meeting deadlines.
? be self-directed on a daily basis, take responsibility to complete tasks, and make decisions within prescribed guidelines without direct instruction.
? be able to identify problems as encountered and make quick decisions to determine corrective action, including rationing out problems that require additional support or assistance.
? be able to maintain a professional attitude at all times, particularly when dealing with people in complex and stressful situations.
