The Director of Business Development for NPD’s Technology Sector is responsible for generating revenue growth from sales to new clients in China and Taiwan. This individual will primarily support the sale of our syndicated retail, commercial reseller, and distributor point of sale information, as well as advanced consultative services such as forecasting, pricing analytics. Clients will use this data and insights for strategic planning, market sizing, pricing, new product development, competitive analysis, and distribution strategy. You will interact closely with our Technology Sector Leadership, the NPD Analyst Team, Product Management, Corporate Marketing, and the NPD Solutions Group to achieve your objectives.
This position is located in the Shanghai, China NPD office.
About You:
You’re a passionate, highly motivated individual with knowledge of technology market, and market research, with an emphasis on new business acquisition. You are looking for an opportunity to have an impact on some of the most well-known Technology companies in the world. You will be introducing our full suite of products to new prospect accounts, spanning a broad range of Technology categories. You will develop these business accounts to ensure continued growth and profitability. You are a hunter, passionate about driving new business sales.
Qualifications:
? 5-10 years of success meeting/exceeding sales goals with an established track record of selling to large, complex accounts using a consultative selling process.
? Industry experience in technology required.
? Experience selling in an information-oriented business and/or Market Research.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Excellent negotiation skills, including the art of persuasion and creativity.
? Ability to successfully manage many complex prospective clients and projects simultaneously.
? Strong networking, prospecting, and executive selling skills
? Demonstrated expertise in strategic account planning, cold calling and lead development.
? Proven ability to analyze customer needs and goals to generate thoughtful proposals that exceed customer expectations and expand revenue opportunities.
? Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships at all levels of client organization.
? Strong organizational and project management skills.
? Strong presentation and follow-up skills.
? Excellent English and Chinese both in writing and oral communications.
