Major Responsibilites:

1. The Director Testing and Validation is the spokesperson for the company philosophy within the laboratory and
contributes to implementing the targets formulated by the company management.
2. Is responsible for smooth processing of the orders received in the laboratory in accordance with the quality
targets.
3. Checks that the available staffing and technical requirements meet the respective contract specifications and
ensures that these are maintained or adjusted accordingly.
4. Monitors compliance with legislation for protection of laboratory employees.
5. Monitors compliance with environmental legislation

Job Description:

Equipment Management：
1. Makes sure that suitable devices, equipment and consumables are available.
2. Where devices or equipment need regular functional testing or maintenance by specialist companies, the Director
Testing and Validation must arrange contracts to this effect.
3. Makes sure that the test equipment and test methods correspond to the state of the art.
Team Managment :
4. Is responsible for staffing, for organisation of work and processes in own area and for order processing in the
laboratory, and is thus authorised to initiate disciplinary measures and measures relating to labour law.
5. Creates holiday and other staff cover plans, coordinates staffing requirements with the management team,
interviews applicants, agrees personal development plans with employees, develops and supervises degree
thesis topics to the benefit of the organisation, carries out employee appraisals.
6. In the role of manager, is responsible for motivating employees, and resolving conflicts
7. Ensures that all employees are familiar with or have received instruction in the duties that they are to perform.
Draws up training plans and maintains lists of approved employees to this end.

Technical Support:
8. Is available to help the Responsible Testers and Measuring Station Supervisors with technical matters. Actively
supports the laboratory when processing difficult, complex test orders.
9. Is available to provide technical advice to customers and Project Coordination.
10. Supports the Project Coordination in drawing up test schedules.
11. Actively supports the laboratory in the introduction and characterisation of new test methods.

Testing Techinical Management :
12. Must ensure accuracy of the technical master data for the methods in LIMS.
13. Is responsible for allocating methods to employees and for approving employees within own remit (LIMS).
14. Actively supports the IT departments in programming and optimising the modules for laboratory organisation in
LIMS.
15. Determines the analytical quality assurance methods and quality targets, taking account of existing guidelines,
and is responsible for implementing the existing quality assurance system.
16. Ensures participation in available and necessary interlaboratory tests.
17. Must ensure that testing in the laboratory is carried out on schedule.
18. Is responsible for technical checking of test reports and determines the authorised test report signatories for the
corresponding measuring stations.
19. Identifies potential for rationalisation and implements it (following agreement with management where investment
is required) and promotes the suggestion scheme. Is required to work on the continual optimisation of the
cost/benefit relationship in the laboratory. Systematically monitors the execution of work and seeks improvement
in terms of quality and productivity (Continual Improvement Process).
20. Prepares documents for planning investments in systems and devices, installations, equipment etc.
Security, Quality, Health and Environment
21. Ensures that the required health and safety measures and workplace safety regulations are complied with. Is
supported in this by the Safety, Fire and Radiation Protection Officer and the First Aid Officer.
22. Ensures proper recycling/disposal of laboratory waste and avoidance of environmental problems. Is supported in
this by the Waste Officer.

Your Profile:

- At least 5 years of work experience, 3 years management experience, working experience and theorical
knowledge in material testing area required.
- Chemical or Material Science education background
- Good training and consulting experience
- Responsible, team spirit
- Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin). Nice to have German language skill.
- Good communication skills
