Applications Engineer - Operations Team, South Asia

Nuture and develop the 3D Printing prospective and existing customers through high-quality, timely and optimized parts delivery. The Operations Applications Engineer will manage the 3D printing production process for all parts including benchmarks, paid parts, samples, customer support, etc. The Operations Applications Engineer is responsible to deliver the highest quality parts (optimized for the applications requirements) in the fastest time possible; while maximizing production yield rates and utilization rates. The Applications Engineer will also assist in the post-processing, quality assurance, packaging/shipment and on-site deployment of parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

Project Management & Communication

• Work very closely with the Field Applications Engineers, Reseller, and Customer to comprehensively understand the part requirements.
• Deliver the highest quality part (optimized for the applications requirements) before the estimated delivery date.
• Manage changing and challenging delivery deadlines with in environment with varying production resources.
• Provide relevant, robust, and real-time communication regarding the status of part(s) status.

Pre/Post Processing & Quality Assurance:

• Execute required part pre-processing (file preparation) leveraging the latest best practices & tips/tricks to optimize quality.
• Perform required support removal and finishing processes required to meet/exceed our customer's expectations.
• Inspect (diligently) 100% of parts to ensure the part is optimized for the app requirements and meets/exceeds expectations.
• Document and update tracking of all parts through the key production milestones in our internal (and external) databases.
• Escalate promptly and proactively any part quality issues discovered during the entire production process.

Production Process Improvements

• Train regional teams on advanced applications such as injection molding, RTV molding, vacuum forming, etc….
• Provide periodic technical updates to best practices, processes.
• Aid in the production and distribution of sample kits for the network of Stratasys partners in the region.
• Drive application deployment (training) via effective and efficient conduits.

System/Printer Configuration & Maintenance

• Assist to maintain printer configuration (material type, tip size, etc) based upon proactively monitoring the part build queue.
• Execute routine user/operator maintenance on the printers, systems, and support removal equipment.
• Assist in maintaining systems in peak performance condition to ensure the highest quality parts and yield rates.

Other Key and Notable Support

• Maintain a professional, clean, and appealing work environment consistent with 5S principles.
• Assist in the execution of promotional events, miscellaneous trainings, and demonstrations of Stratasys’ technology.
• Provide assistance and real-time feedback in regional beta testing of new hardware and software products.
• Package parts robustly and comprehensively to ensure their safe arrival at their destination.

• Ensure the packaging of parts, presents the part in a positive, professional, and appealing manner.

Essential Education, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
• +2 years of experience in R&D - ideally prototype department, or manufacturing organization
• Experience with traditional manufacturing processes a must (injection molding, CNC machining, etc….)
• Excels at project management – including meeting challenging (and changing) deadlines with minimal resources
• Very high attention to detail and relentless obsession to maintain an organized and professional environment
• Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Experience in 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks) and prototyping a plus
• Knowledge of 3D Printing a plus (but not a requirement)
• Excellent problem solving skills & ability to work well with others.
