Senior designer qualifications:
- a degree in knit/fashion designing
- 3 to 5 years solid experience in APPAREL AND ACCESSORIES fashion designing - a must
- Design experience in WOVEN and KNIT product items
- Must have a strong sense of the aesthetic eye for color and detail and a sense of balance and proportion, and an appreciation for beauty.
- Familiar with CAD, Photoshop and Design software.
- Must be able to effectively interact with inter -company departments
- Ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
- Good follow-up & communication skills and problem solving skills.
- Outgoing personality, creative, hard-working, self-motivated and with initiative and positive disposition
- Good in spoken and written English and Mandarin
- Must be able to effectively interact with inter-company departments and outside suppliers and efficient with follow-up and documentations
- Have experience of living/studying in US and Europe

Senior designer responsibilities:
-Translate design sketches into detailed CAD forms and tech packs.
- Do research and report on trends of the season, via catwalk, street and market inspirations.
- Amend and modify existing designs to customer's specifications in an original way.
- Follow instructions well from both the Design, Sales and Merchandising teams.
- Involve in the research on fashion trends
- Conceptualize the designs and develop into story boards
- Assist in all design aspect from colors matching, materials recommendations ( fabrics, embellishments and fasteners etc. ) and suppliers recommendations
- Create designs, sketches with the help of Computer aided Design or by hand
- Work closely with the Sales and Merchandiser on related planning to make sure that the designed products are accordance to customer specification and to ensure customers satisfactory
- Work closely with Sales and Merchandiser on product development
- Supervise design team and monitor the task progress to meet deadlines.
- To identify emerging fashion trends and provide trend direction boards and seasonal color palette to the design team and specific brands.
- Oversee the brand direction and vision for all client product categories as well as our own in house label.
- Select fabrics, yarns, finishes and styling details for all knit and woven categories. 举报 分享

Fownes Brothers established manufacturing facilities in Gloversville and Amsterdam, N.Y. in 1903. In the late 1950’s manufacturing shifted from the US and the Caribbean basin, to the Far East. First came the Philippines in 1959, then Southern China in 1984.
Both facilities are still in operation to this day.
With a growing international business, Fownes established an office in Shanghai in 2002 to address the needs of its global customers.
