Duties and responsibilities:

§ Handling incoming order documentation like drawings and bill of materials, specification sheets
- check customer order documentation for engineering changes
- review documentation concerning completeness/ missing information
- translate documentation into Chinese.
- make sure the documentation is ready (technically understandable) for local suppliers
- evaluate local alternatives for (raw) material and manufacturing processes and/ or material treatment if not available in China or if local less expensive or to shorten the lead time or increase availability.

§ Support sourcing team concerning process manufacturing know-how as well as for feasibility reviews/ assessments of (alternative) manufacturing processes of quality improvement activities

§ Design tooling’s and fixtures for internal and/or supplier use.

§ Design parts / small assemblies for end customers if required.

Requirements:

§ Education: Bachelor degree or above in mechanical engineering

§ Working experience: +5 years in similar functions and business (e.g. machining industry)

§ Knowledge/ skills:

– mechanical engineering

– manufacturing/ machining processes

– material treatments

– international (mechanical) Standards and Norms (ISO, DIN, ANSI)

– reading and interpretation of drawings, bill of materials and (material and process) specifications

– familiar with CAD (Solidworks/ AutoCAD or similar)

– Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Internet research

§ Language: good knowledge of German and English
