Position Objective
To establish sourcing and product development strategies and plans that are aligned and directly support the company’s goals and overall business strategy. To enhance the Sourcing & Product Development team’s capabilities and foster cross-functional collaboration based on company’s cultures and values. Partner with the China Management Team to recruit, retain and develop a strong talent pool among the entire China organization with a particular focus on the sourcing and product development team. To build a strong team working environment that is fast, fun and friendly. Identify improvement opportunities and come up with root cause analysis and proactive solutions. Part of China Management Team.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Sourcing:
1. Source new vendors in China and other Asian countries for lower costs, better quality, and broader range of product selection and so on.
2. Conduct market research and competitor analysis on a regular basis and articulate the reports with senior management.
3. Identify and communicate product trends and opportunities to Product Managers in New York Office.
4. Ensure ongoing product benchmarking and critical evaluation of vendor capabilities that meet or exceed product quality and pricing/margin requirements.
5. Upgrade and negotiate terms and conditions in vendor agreement and make sure all new vendors are in compliance with company’s policy.
6. Work closely with quality and merchandising teams to identify and mitigate business risks by identifying risky vendors and sourcing new vendors as appropriate.
7. Monitor and react to raw material supply/demand trends, as well as marketplace pricing and currency fluctuations
8. Set up new vendor validation process and validate new vendors with support from quality team.
9. Manage vendor matrix set-up and maintenance
10. Potentially lead fabric sourcing and component sourcing whenever necessary
11. Work very closely with the GM in China and Sourcing Manager based in New York Office.

PD:
1. Lead the PD team and ensure a fast, efficient and accurate development process that executes and supports all new PD initiatives to achieve benchmark prices and target margins.
2. Collaborate and closely partner with Product Managers in New York Office, as well as design teams in China and Philippines, to understand product needs of the clients and develop the right products, at the right price with the right vendors.
3. Work very closely with quality team to make sure the new products are manufacturable and in compliance with all the regulations.
4. Work very closely with merchandising team to ensure seamless transition when a new product becomes a repeated order.
5. Continuously look into PD processes and propose changes to improve PD efficiency and accuracy/quality.
6. Ensure the team is performing at a high level.

Education, Work Experience & Special Skills/Licenses
1. At least 10 years’ relevant experience in sourcing and product development. Experience working in South East Asian countries is required
2. At least 5 years working experience in a manager level or above. Senior manager/director level is an advantage
3. Working experience with retailers or large scale importers. Experience in US market is highly preferred.
4. Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing process within consumer product organization.
5. Strong product knowledge on hard goods. Fashion or Fast Fashion experience required with experience in home products being preferred.
6. Demonstrated experience building high performing teams, elevating team and individual performance and leading through change.
7. Outstanding leadership skills with ability to engage and retain talent.
8. Open minded and adaptable to changes. Able to work in a creative and collaborative working environment.
9. Very good communication skills and ability to work well with different functional teams in different locations.
10. Strong command of English language is required – written and verbal.
