Report to: Managing Director, Asia Pacific



Location: HKNW office, ShanghaiResponsibilities:



· Public Affairs monitoring, research and communication



Understand, research and track key issues that may impact INVISTA employees and assets as they relate to the government policy and regulation.
Collaborate with other G/PA colleagues as well as business and capability leaders to advise on potential impact on INVISTA business
Develop and implement systems within INVISTA China to manage dispersed information via standardized knowledge sharing process
Assist in coordinating special projects, including selection of membership in trade/ industry associations or leverage marketing initiatives in cooperation with business/capability partners


· China corporate communications support:

Build/manage media relationships in China to enhance and protect INVISTA's reputation
Secure and manage media monitoring services with alignment to MBM® Philosophy and Compliance requirements
Implement/manage China local company website
Develop tools to support media relations and other communications efforts
Monitor social media development, assess and identify appropriate social media strategies and manage tactics
Develop and implement marketing communications strategies for individual businesses/manufacturing sites, such as trade show participation, event organization and management


· China employee communications:

Work with Business/Capability leaders to plan and implement employee communications strategies to enhance employee engagement and culture alignment
Develop internal communications materials, eg employee newsletters, write/edit/adapt/translate as needed
Provide internal communications support to businesses/manufacturing sites


· China corporate citizenship/community outreach:

Assess needs and identify appropriate programs, manage implementation of programs identified, working with HR and manufacturing sites
Recommend/manage charitable contributions
Provide pertinent messages and stories to enhance various communication tools such as speeches, presentations, regional newsletters, media interviews or stories, etc.


· MBM® Philosophy and Compliance

· Serve business units, capabilities, plant sites by developing and implementing PA strategies

· Ensure the implementation of marketing, promotions and advertising with fully alignment of corporate standards

· Study & interpret government regulation and public environment to add value on decision making process of the business

· Strive for continuous improvement on internal/ external communication (mechanism, process, strategies...etc.)

· Enhance INVISTA reputation as well as strengthen brand value in relevant industries

· Be an MBM® culture Leader by learning and applying MBM principles and mental models in daily business activities




Experience & Skills Required:



· 7+ years experience in government or public affairs, corporate communications, media relations, community relations or related roles in multinational companies, chemical industry or manufacturing business

· Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, in English and Chinese

· Good interpersonal skills with ability to develop and manage internal and external relationships, collaborate and integrate with business and site leaders

· Strategic minded, attention to details, superior execution skills for variety of communications and community programs

· Experience in supervising subordinates in a virtual organization

· University graduate in communications, public relations, political economy or related subjects
