POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will lead efforts in exploring, initiating, developing, and validating opportunities for new products, suppliers, and other sourcing-related activities such as quality improvements and cost saving. The Sourcing Engineer will act as the technical interface between suppliers and the Product Teams to determine new and alternate sources. This person will interface closely with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain. Role involves domestic and international travel.

 PRIMARY DUTIES:
? Manage sourcing activity coordination and processes relating to new product development including supplier selection, capability assessment, quality improvement, and supplier readiness. Typically assigned to technically complex projects.
? Research potential sources of supply for purchased products to ensure prices are globally competitive and sufficient production capacity is available within the supply chain. Understand the market price or “Should Cost” price for key commodity items.
? Research new technologies with potential to enhance existing product offerings or that could provide new avenues for product solutions.
? Work closely with the Product Teams to develop sourcing strategy for new products and continued support for existing products and/or new line extension. Responsibility includes supplier selection; prepare Request for Quotation, quotation analysis, price negotiation and supplier recommendation.
? Follow up the new product development according to PPAP timeline, and drive improvements in the speed of development and introduction of all new products.

REQUIREMENTS:
? Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electro-mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical.
? Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in procurement, supplier development, or related discipline in the automotive or commercial industry, preferably in multi-national companies.
? Strong manufacturing, process, quality systems and root cause analysis/countermeasure experience
? Chinese and English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.

 KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
? Good understanding of cost drivers for the components
? Strong project management and development skills to work across all functions and levels of an organization
? Ability to work in a matrix organization
? Analytical and computer skills to manage data and information
? Cost saving and management, factory audit and evaluation, good quality knowledge in ISO/TS, all are helpful
? Demonstrated experience in problem solving in manufacturing processes
? Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint 举报 分享
