China IS Manager

Position Description

SCOPE

--The China IS Manager reports to the Asia IS Director, and manages (with the local IS team) all new and ongoing business requests, ongoing problem identification and resolution, and all related communications between the business units in China (all brands) and the appropriate members of the Regional IS Team. Providing these services in an effective, efficient and timely manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of all systems services and IS related resources required by the local business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Consult regularly with local business users, management, local vendors and members of the Regional IS team in order to solicit cooperation, identify problem resolution and ensure access to system and information needs and requirements are fulfilled.
-Evaluate system proposals and requirements, to assist the project team to understand the project feasibility related to local business practices and limitation.
-Assign and review the work of local IS team resources.
-Coordinate with the Regional IS Team to develop and implement common systems, standards and practices related to all aspects of the IS environment
-Evaluate the local IT and Business organization's technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.
-Contribute to the creation of operational budget and control expenditures appropriately
-Assist to develop and interpret organizational goals, policies, and procedures
-Recruit, hire and train and supervise staff and/or participate in staffing decisions
-Prepare and review operational reports and project progress reports
-Stay abreast of advances in technology and business developments in China and internationally

Position Requirements

-A deep functional and process knowledge of Retail POS, ERP, CRM, Finance and Logistics systems.
-Knowledge in Project Management, IT Service Management (ITIL) practices
-Skills:
--Strong management and supervisory skills.
--Strong interpersonal communication skills including active listening clear writing and speaking, as well as coordination, persuasion, negotiation and social perceptiveness.
--Strong judgment and decision making skills including critical thinking, complex problem solving and troubleshooting.
--Strong sense of Customer service
--Effective resources management (financial, material and personnel) and time is critical.
--Good analytical (Operational, technological and systems) skills in order to properly assess requirements and problem situations.
--A demonstrated ability to speak read and write clearly and effectively in both Chinese (Mandarin/simplified Chinese) and English.
-Experience:
--Minimum 10 years IS experience within a Retail Environment (prior experience in Luxury Retail is advantageous)
--Minimum 5 years IS management experience with a team of at least 5 to 10 persons
--Work experience within a multi-national multi-brand company is beneficial.
-Qualifications:
--University degree in Computer Science or IS related studies (Master's degree would be beneficial)
--Certification in Project Management, Service Concepts (ITIL) and other systems
