Job Description

We are looking for a PHP Developer responsible for managing back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

Responsibilities

* Develop back-end and front-end programs for educational use
* Integration of multiple information systems
* Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules
* Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
* Maintenance and monitor server clusters running on Ali Cloud, keep highly secured

Skills And Qualifications

* Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks such as FuelPHP, Phalcon
* Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of PHP
* Understanding of MVC design patterns
* Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
* Knowledge of object oriented PHP programming
* Understanding accessibility and security compliance
* Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions
* Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
* User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments, such as Active Directory, Google
* Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
* Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds
* Working with DBA and creating database schemas, views and relationships
* Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
* Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

Shanghai Community International School (SCIS) operates on Three campus locations: Shanghai (Hongqiao Campus, Pudong LS/USCampus) and Hangzhou International School.
 SCIS has a full term of accreditation with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
 SCIS was founded in 1990 by the International Schools Foundation. ISF operates five international schools: two in Shanghai, and one each in Hangzhou, Jakarta, and Cape Town. ISF is a non-profit (501 C-3) organization located in Lansing, Michigan, and operated by an appointed Board of Governors.
 SCIS currently has over 1500 children enrolled in preschool through grade 12, across four campus locations.
SCIS has a dedicated and talented group of educators on each campus. They are a diverse team who come mainly from the USA, Canada, England, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa.

SCIS is based on the American system (grade levels, similar structure of class offerings, daily schedule, yearly calendar); school hours for student attendance is 8:00 - 3:00, Mondays through Fridays.

The curriculum is international (based on an American framework, but incorporating the standards from many Western countries: USA, England, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand); materials are largely from the U.S., but also include materials from other countries.
