Summary Description:

Position Summary:

Increase market awareness, penetration and growth of Dymax Medical Asian product sales predominately to the disposable medical device market. Ability to adjust to market discoveries and conditions and the ability to interface effectively with others within and outside of Dymax. Bring together all of the elements of a fully integrated program utilizing the existing product line and that which is in development. Address the product offering, pricing, promotions, and channel partners. Interface with numerous functions within Dymax (and parties outside of Dymax) including; Customers, Adhesive R&D, Equipment Design, Operations, the Marketing Communications Team, Field Sales, Channel Partners, Dymax Senior Leadership Team, and outside Market Influencers. Develop rapport with new clients, and set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship. They are also required to help grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients. Strategic planning is a key part of this job description, since it is the business manager’s responsibility to develop the pipeline of new business coming into the region. This requires a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and of the company’s competitors.


Manages and supports Asia region Medical Business efforts and is expected to travel approximately 20-40% (overnight) as needed.


Responsibilities:

? Develops and implements, subject to Management approval, an annual Medical Marketing Program, following the global Medical plan as a guide, complete with program goals, forecast, objectives, activities and budget including department - and in concert with Marcom-promotional, for the Asia region.

? In concert with Marketing Communications, Leads assessment and documentation of regional market/customer needs and trends.

? Manages product life-cycles including product introductions and obsolescence. Feeds that information to the global Medical Market Segment Manager on at least an annual basis.

? Leads assessment, documentation and dissemination of the strengths & weaknesses of program in relation to competitive programs. This includes competitive comparisons in all 4-p dimensions – product, price, promotion, and placement.

? Develops marketing mix elements, including pricing and channel partner initiatives for Dymax Asia region

? Champions and monitors product development activities consistent with the Regional and Global Medical Marketing Program.

? Coordinates with R&D on Equipment/Adhesive system development to establish and lead the Dymax Edge/Total System Solution in the eyes of the Medical Market

? Works with Marketing Communications Team to establish a Technology Leadership corporate image in connection with our Electronics offering and in keeping with corporate guidelines. Shares local needs with Global Marketing Communications.

? Networks with influential third parties key to program success, such as publication editors and industry spokespeople on all continents.

? Supports Application Engineering if requested for Sales training within Dymax and sales partners and responds quickly to field requests for additional technical and commercial information/support.

? Leads the Development initiatives for New Products from Marketing Medical Strategic Plan such that careful attention is paid to ensuring that product mix is comprised of products released within the last 5 years.

? Coordinates New Product needs for regional needs. This includes managing Stage Gate process for local development.

? Monitors Product Portfolio regularly to ensure ongoing product rationalization occurs in such a way to maintain a fresh look to the market.

? Actively monitors and engages with beta sites for Newly Developed Products.


Skills/Qualifications:

? Bachelors degree preferred, preferably in engineering or a science; MBA preferred

? Business-to-Business Technical Marketing experience required

? 3+ years Medical Device OEM Experience (Disposable Medical Devices)

? Knowledge of the market, key players and demonstrated experience in this market is required

? Experience in or selling to the Adhesives industry preferred

? Specialty chemical sales or marketing experience preferred

? Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

? Ability to work in cross-functional teams is required

? Bilingual preferred
