Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

* Lead R&D in control systems development for products and processes for a wide variety of GE businesses in the areas of energy (including large wind turbine, gasification and other clean energy), healthcare, water and transportation; * Take responsibility for physics- based modeling, modeling, simulation, optimization, simulation, controls algorithm development, and associated prototyping effort; * Work within the Real-time Controls & Instrumentation Lab at GE Global Research-Shanghai and collaborate with a diverse team both at GE's other global research centers and business units to grow and lead new research projects;

Qualifications/Requirements

* Possess a Master or PhD in control or system engineering with at least 10 years of industrial experience; * Knowledge of control systems, signal processing, estimation theory, system identification and optimization are required, as well as simulation and coding skills using MATLAB/Simulink or other similar simulation packages; * Strong knowledge of wind turbine aerodynamics modeling and controls are desired * Understanding and experience with physics based modeling especially on aerodynamics and/or fluid mechanics a strong plus; * Demonstrated technical leadership in organization research vision shaping and proposal drafting * Demonstrated ability to convert high-level customer needs into a technical development strategy; * Good interpersonal and communication skills. Communicate effectively both in written and oral English in a global team. * Self-motivated and capable of working independently * Innovative nature and willingness to pursue new technical areas.

GE中国研究开发中心（CTC）是GE公司四个全球研发中心之一，是跨业务集团、跨研究领域的研发机构，为GE各业务集团提供基础科学研究、新产品开发、工程开发和采购服务。

中心坐落于上海张江高科技园区，占地面积47,000平方米，于2003年5月投入使用，是国内最大的独立外资研发机构之一，也是国内极少数具有基础科学研究能力的企业研发中心。

GE中国研发中心现有研发人员1400多人，60多个拥有世界一流设备的实验室，其研究力量主要集中在以下领域：

• 清洁能源，包括洁净煤、风电、太阳能发电等；
• 水处理与海水淡化；
• 材料科学，包括纳米材料、晶体、陶瓷，材料分析；
• 电力电子和实时控制；
• 先进制造技术；
• 影像技术；
• 化学技术，如导电高分子，电化学技术;
• 传感与检测技术；
• LED照明；
• 交通运输等

GE中国研发中心每年完成100多个研究项目。截至2009年底，GE在中国的研发人员共申请了450余项专利。
