JOB SUMMARY
The Software Engineer will be a core staff member of a research and development team at Tyco Center of Excellence China to develop Scott Safety's next generation gas detection products. The Software Engineer will be responsible for managing software development projects, design and validation of software applications, integration of software and hardware solutions.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
? Software project management and coordination of global software development programs.
? Perform software design, programming, testing and system integration for gas detection products.
? Develop application software for data analysis and management on PC and mobile operation systems.
? Work with hardware and firmware engineer to develop test software to validate hardware, firmware and system designs.
? Document and maintain developed software.
? Other manager assigned responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
? Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related major; Advanced degree preferred
? 5 years experience in the software development for detection instruments or related products
? Proficient with C, C++, Java on MS windows and Linux platform.
? Familiar with MS windows ce development and .Net Compact Framework development.
? Working knowledge of interfacing with USB/Socket-TCP based devices through .Net technology.
? Strong in UML and OOPS concepts, minimum 2 years of experience using UML to design applications.
? Familiar with MS Visual Studio. Knowledge of database development (MS SQL Server). Knowledge of network development (TCP, HTTP, XML, etc). Knowledge of cloud computing and web services.
? Familiar with MS windows, iOS and Android operation systems.
? Familiar with one or more web based user interface development tool, such as Silverlight.
? Understand of Modular Component Development, Design Patterns.
? Experience in managing software designs from concept to production
? Track record of innovative design with products launched in market.
? Proficient with the English Language, with excellent verbal and written communication skill.
? Capable of communicating and working effectively with global cross-functional team
? Must be a team player with strong personal skills.
? Experience in applying using Six Sigma tools to design solutions to meet both customer and manufacturing requirements is a plus.
? Knowledge of design and validation of gas detection instruments is a plus.
