Reports To: Operations Manager


Qualifications

·Minimum of bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management or related area of study, Masters degree preferred

·3-5 years experience working with factory suppliers in several Chinese provinces

·Previous experience with supplier management, including sourcing, audit, evaluation, contract writing and reviewing

·Previous experience with financial management, including P/L

·Previous experience working with different departments, e.g. product development, quality control, logistics, financial

·Previous experience developing production and quality inspection schedules

·High level of integrity

·Very strong negotiation and planning skills

·Independent and proactive, able to take charge

·Good team player and quick learner

·Structured and possess good organizational skills to finish projects on schedule

·Self - motivated, aggressive and able to work under pressure

·Able to apply broad manufacturing principles across a number of product categories

·Good use of computer and necessary skills to use most office application software and the ability to use the internet for communication

·Good communication in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken

·Previous experience working in a multinational environment preferred



Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, the Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing the production of a number of different products across a network of manufacturers throughout China. In addition, the Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for the following accountabilities:

· Ensure division profit margin and cost of goods sold targets are met

· Research and identify manufacturing resources for product

· Set up and maintain the supplier database

· Build and manage positive working relationships with manufacturing partners

· Negotiate and identify strategies for competitive pricing from manufacturing partners

· Negotiate competitive payment terms with manufacturing partners

· Identify continuous improvement strategies for product cost reductions, product re-engineering

· Manage purchase order, supplier contracts, and order scheduling/placement with manufacturing partners

· Develop team production and quality inspection schedules

· Manage all production and quality management to ensure on-time delivery and error rates below 0.5%

· Ensure manufacturing partners follow relevant health, safety, and legal guidelines

· Troubleshoot manufacturing issues with manufacturing partners

· Improve the supplier management process
