Major Responsibilities:



1. supports the development the design basis for capital investment projects including but not limited to equipment lists, equipment selection, inquiry drawings, initial mechanical design, specifications, material selection;



2. converts technical requirements into engineering design input;



3. performs necessary technical calculations in the area of mechanical design;



4. generates engineering drawings;



5. supports the efforts to design a plant which can be safely operated in a sustainable manner by applying standard techniques like HAZOP;



6. generates basic inquiry documents for equipment like datasheets and inquiry drawings;



7. generates technical bid evaluations within his / her area of responsibility;



8. provides field engineering support;



9. provides consultancy during equipment manufacturing;



10. provides technical support to QA / QC;



11. prepare and maintains EQP data bases like PEDW;



12. ensures implementation of measures within the project to protect the intellectual property of the client;



13. ensures implementation of good engineering practices in projects; contributes to development of good engineering practices according to his or her line function; performs other related duties as required.









Capability and Competence



1. Master of Science degree with a mechanical design related major;



2. his able to acquire know how in the areas of conceptual, basic and detail design and



field engineering support of chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical or related plants;



3. is familiar with relevant national codes and standards;



4. is knowledgeable in relevant design software (AutoCAD, SW 6, PV Elite, Dimy etc)



5. is familiar with the general engineering procedures and work flows;



6. is proficient in using standard office software;



7. can communicate in Mandarin and English at a level sufficient for an international



working environment;



8. has a positive attitude towards technical and organizational challenges, regardsundefined equipment design tasks as an invitation to develop new and optimal



solutions for the client rather than as a weak work basis;



9. is able to establish priorities, to organize, to work independently, and to proceed



according to agreed objectives;



10. is able to express ideas concisely and clearly, orally and in writing;



11. is able to work in a multi-cultural environment;



12. embraces the concept of long-life learning;



13. exhibits considerable interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and



maintain effective working relationships with others;



14. shows a superior degree of diligence and maintains confidentiality as access to



sensitive client data and documents is granted to the job holder.



15. Able to work for minimum 3-4 days per week.
