Responsibilities

- Sample Evaluation – supports the Shanghai sourcing team by evaluating all product samples for their fit for use and compliance characteristics. Samples will be approved, rejected, or submitted for further corrective actions.
- Product Specifications – ensures that all samples proceeding to production are accompanied by a specification based on, or equivalent to, The Warehouse’s product specification template for Consumer Electronics and Electrical Products.
- Compliance documentation – ensures that all required evidence of standards compliance has been reviewed and approved prior to production commencing.
- Prior to any production order being placed the Quality Technician will have agreed between the SRO Merchandiser and Supplier a Quality Control plan sufficient to ensure the product conforms to its original specification and any applicable standards. This plan should reflect the risk and complexity of the product, its value, the capability of the supplier, and the status of the order – initial order versus repeat order.
- The quality control plan may include any or all of :
- The evaluation of a preproduction sample
- A during production inspection or inline inspection (DUPRO)carried out by the TWL SRO Technician, an approved specialist 3rd party inspector, or the factory itself
- A final random inspection (FRI) of goods immediately before shipping carried out by TWL SRO Technician, an approved specialist 3rd party inspector, or the factory itself
- A production sample being sent to the Technician in Shanghai or an approved third party testing laboratory for final evaluation and approval.
- Shipping Approval – The technician shall approve the shipment of the product only on the basis of a report derived from any of the above sources (as agreed in the QC Plan) indicating conformance to Specification and Standard.
- Assists as required in the investigation of products with high return rates or customer complaints
- Reports to the Ethical Sourcing and General Merchandise Quality Manager (Auckland)
- Consults with and informs other members of the quality team in Auckland as required
- Takes direction from and collaborates with the General Merchandise Sourcing team in the Shanghai office.
- Maintains a regular PAR (Plan Act Review) meeting cycle with the Merchandise leaders in the Shanghai office.
- Holds regular video or teleconferences with NZ QA team
- Travels with the NZQA team or TWG buyers as required
- Provides regular activity reports to the NZQA manager.
- Provides training on quality procedures and standards to the Shanghai sourcing teams as required
- Develops and maintains a working knowledge of New Zealand and other international standards relevant to his / her categories.
- Develops and maintain a working knowledge of testing protocols required for each standard.
- Evaluates and interprets standards test reports as an aspect of product evaluation and approval.
- Applies category insight and knowledge and lessons from aftermarket faults to drive the continuous improvement of products.
- Communicates with the sourcing team and factories to drive continuous improvement and remedy design or manufacturing faults
- Supports the growth of direct sourcing, and cost reduction without comprising quality
- Assigns lab testing or DUPRO and FRI testing to approved third party service providers (e.g. SGS, INTERTEK, AIS, and TUV) as required.
- Monitors the performance of service providers.
- Logs all tasks and tracks workflow and approvals on the QA SharePoint Platform
- Executes plan within agreed budget for travel and testing and inspection services.
- Maintains a solution focused approach to all elements of the Quality Way of Working
- Acts as the voice of the customer – the end user – at all times.
- Escalates any conflicts appropriately to his or her manager
- Ensures that the SRO HG Merchandise team are familiar with the agreed Quality Ways of Working for their categories and have all the necessary quality resources to support them.

Requirements

- A strong background in Consumer Electronics and Electrical goods manufacturing and quality management
- 5 years’ experience working with QA/QC teams preferably within a buying office (desired)
- 5 years’ experience in evaluating product quality (essential)
- Ability to work with factories/ suppliers for continuous improvement
- Ability to maintain reporting and assessment records
- Good interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to work with suppliers/ local office/ NZQA whilst representing the best interests of TWL’s customers
- CET level 6 English is a must
- QC inspection qualification
- Relevant engineering education would be an advantage 举报 分享
