Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work with Supplier Development, Purchasing, and Engineering to identify potential sourcing opportunities.
· Ensure suppliers understand product requirements, engineering specifications, and quality, timing and submission requirements
· Evaluate supplier capabilities to design, develop, test E-motor, power electronics and identify improvement opportunities by conducting on-site assessments and technical reviews.
· Participate in electrification parts benchmark and collect competitive intelligences regularly.
· Support electrification regulations on charging and electrification parts and update regularly.
· Effectively communicate assessment / workshop results to Global Engineering.
· Track latest technology and research in the area of electrification parts
· Motivate, encourage, and negotiate with engineering to evaluate alternate solutions to existing designs and specifications.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor Degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Power Electronics or related field.
· Extensive knowledge of Electrification parts (E-motor, OBCM, Inverter, APM, etc.)
· Good knowledge of HEV, PHEV and BEV vehicle basic architecture
· Understand technical standards, part specifications, critical part characteristics and required process controls.
· Demonstrated high level of interpersonal communication skills to effectively lead, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations and instruct others in new techniques.
· Highly proficient oral and written communication skills in Mandarin and English
· Basic PC skills, email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Experience:
· Experience with E-motor, power electronics manufacturing and assembly plant processes and procedures.
· Experience in problem investigation and applying sound technical judgment to develop solutions.
· General business knowledge related to part sourcing.
Preferred experiences:
· Knowledge of automotive industry.
· Experiences with multinational corporation engineering, quality, and manufacturing standards.
· Electrification components or subsystem design experience.
· Experience with GM processes, systems, and standards.
· Expertise with problem solving tools i.e. 5 Why Analysis, 5 Phase, Red X, or similar.
