InterChina: Strategy and M&A advisory firm serving Fortune 2000 companies operating in China. The most established and reputed boutique in China, founded 23 years ago, with 40 professionals in Beijing and Shanghai.

Strategy Practice: We have conducted over 600 strategy projects to date. We work with clients to capitalize on top-line growth opportunities while also addressing long-term profit protection. We have particular expertise in modeling unstructured markets, identifying new growth opportunities, understanding market needs, testing competitive propositions, and developing route-to-market plans. We pride ourselves on being practical, developing real understanding through fieldwork, and delivering workable results on an actionable level.

Sector Groups: InterChina has 5 sector groups covering Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, Automotives, Materials and Machinery. Each is partner-led, with dedicated strategy consultants and M&A advisors, and work on relevant projects. By way of example, Consumer & Retail clients include Walmart, Ikea, Bosch Siemens, Electrolux, A.O. Smith, L’Oreal, Nu Skin, Unilever, Nestle, Wyeth, Fonterra, DuPont and Bunge among many others. Sector groups provide the opportunity for consultants to develop experience, expertise and contact networks in their chosen sector of interest.

The Position: Project Manager / Senior Manager

Growth Trajectory: An important position within the firm, with responsibility for managing client projects and coaching junior colleagues. Position requires expertise in strategy consulting, experience in their chosen sector of interest, and the ambition to contribute to the future of the firm.

Project Management: The main responsibility of InterChina’s Managers is to manage strategy consulting projects. They work closely on each project with one of the firm’s partners, who provide guidance and coaching as needed. They interface directly with clients, with multiple touch-points throughout the project. And they run their Project Teams, typically consisting of 1-2 consultants, supported by InterChina’s secondary research specialists.

Developmental Role: InterChina is a fast moving firm, and Managers are expected to play a development role. That includes contributing to client pitches, helping to improve systems and processes, and coaching junior colleagues in terms of performance and career development.

Basic Requirements

Relevant bachelor degree, MBA preferred.
Substantial China business experience (>5 years).
Substantial consulting or corporate development experience (>3 years).
Substantial sector experience (preferably consumer or industrial).
Fluent spoken and written Mandarin and English.
