职位描述

Report to: Lob Platform Manager In GCN(Wayne Li)

Summary of Job:
Responsible for continuously driving product quality improvement and providing technical expertise:
· To serve as a focal solution provider for Field Failure resolution through rapid Corrective Action (CA) activities serving as a 24x7 escalation point for field problems on start ups as well as for manufacturing engineering for technical issues. New Product Development (NPD) technical reviewer ensuring NPD issues are caught early and fixed prior to release to production via rapid CA and by injecting value engineering concepts to solve projected manufacturing problems.
· To serve as a single point escalation path for technical issue resolution from manufacturing.

Essential Functions:
· Customer interface on product quality issues locally/regionally and provides on the spot system evaluations and customer report to resolved customer problems as escalated by the field service engineers
Leads in resolving Corrective Actions quickly pertaining to test/electrical/electronic components through PDCA/7 step problem solving methodology working closely together with the 3 phase Power Line of business platform team .
· Continuously drives in analyzing and formulating solutions to reduce/improve Defect Per Unit (DPU)/yields
· Field failure analysis and monitoring including creation of DCA reports where needed
Ensure ECO's are implemented correctly after completion of corrective actions.
Supervise and support pro-active upgrades of modules and systems in the supply chain as per instructions.
· Interfaces with 3 phase Power Platform/design groups to improve product quality by learning from the lessons of the past CA, technical evaluations including Design For Manufacturing / Assembly (DFMA)
· Actively participates in product transitions and discussions by coordinating to local staff on going activities on new product dev't, and ensuring that all electrical/electronic parts-related issues affecting product transitions are resolved prior to release to manufacturing
· Participates on new product development teams to create test philosophies, specifications, and procedures.
· Proofs the test flow by making sure the specs are rightfully designed for manufacturing.
· Work with continuous improvement teams to update software/hardware for improved product quality
· Re-engineering and value engineering introductions to solve product quality issues.

Secondary Functions:
· Alternate parts sourcing
· Support other facility technical needs
· Re-engineering on obsolete parts to have re-use on products and avoid scrap

Education-Minimum required level:
Graduate of BS Electronics/Engineering
Experience-Minimum Required:
· A minimum of 5 years design or product engineering experience gained in AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC power conversion manufacturing environment or similar electronics manufacturing environment
· Experience in 3 Phase uninterruptible power supply greater than 10KVA is a definite advantage

Knowledge and Skills 1 -Required:
· High level of problem solving capacity is required

Knowledge and Skills 2- Desired but not essential:
· Familiarity with assembly language programming as well as familiarity with different electronic communications protocol such as serial, parallel, USB and CANbus is an advantage

· Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrates effective time management skills
· Willingness to gain and share knowledge
· High confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with people
· Demonstrates a flexibility in style to meet the requirements or multi-culture position

Travel:
· Regional/locally on monthly basis (Customer support on site together with Service)
> International, NPD trainings and customer discussions 1 to 3 times a year at 2 weeks durations

Shanghai R&D Center ------ HBN
·Specialize in surge and line conditioner technologies.
·Build expertise in embedded systems and UPS technology starting with derivative projects starting in 2009.
·With UPS experience, build China customer expertise for Home segment projects.
Charter
To design, develop and bring to market solutions for HBN customers using APC's mature solution concept prioritization, research and PMP methods. The solutions will be made of robust subsystems that can be easily reused in other HBN products. Whenever possible, and within product cost and time to market program constraints, trade-offs shall be made in favor of reliability, modularity and scalability/ extensitibility.
We will leverage our location to best integrate product solution architecture with China suppliers of surge protector and components.
We will leverage our location near manufacturing to best utilize the resources that achieve our quality, cost and time to market objectives.
Shanghai R&D Center ------ R&C
·Lead the market World Wide, with Best in Class Rack & Power distribution, Cooling solution & related Service for Data Center, Industry & Building Environments.
·Pursue a Clear Leader Strategy in Racks & Accessories, Power Distribution Units and Service
·Maintain Challenger Strategy in Cooling with pushing highly innovative Solutions and targeting top of mind IT Decision maker issues
Primary Mission
Create profitable product solutions in support of PMP Product Roadmap initiatives and create value for our Customers worldwide.
Key Accountabilities
·New product design creativity and implementation excellence.
·Innovate through technology.
·Develop PMP capability on all product families.
·Initiate and support In-Region vendor selection/development for technical product applications.
·Support Manufacturing Operations as In-region product/process technical resource.
·Assist Factory Operations in product trouble-shooting and theory of operations training.
·Support PMP sourcing (initial & second source) and Value Engineering initiatives on technical applications.
·Facilitate In-region compliance approvals to support Zone Sales initiatives.
·Support Zone as In-region product expert.

·The Shanghai R&D Center will use Engineering Administration resources from IT Business in US to support Oracle and Notes data entry; and Patent and Environmental consulting and administration.
