The purpose of this role is to supervise the installation of IDS in IMAX theatres in Greater China including China Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan by providing onsite supervision of our client’s contractors. The position includes operation training of the client’s managers & projectionists. The equipment includes projectors, sound systems, screens, glasses cleaning machines, and other accessories. The role also requires direct contact with our customers to offer courteous, helpful, timely support to ensure that we satisfy the requirements of our contracts, including commissioning and full documentation. During times where onsite supervision is not required, you will work from the IMAX China office to provide support for other installation supervisors, and to make necessary site visits to ensure Client’s work and progress can meet IMAX requirements and install schedule.


Key Responsibilities:

？ Use IMAX theatre design drawings and schematics for alignment and connection of equipment per IMAX specifications.
？ Supervision of the client’s contractors and various trades in order to unload, position, and connect the system components
？ Complete functional start-up and test procedures to ensure proper commissioning of all system components.
？ Train the client’s operators on all system functions including system operation, virtual show assembly, and all aspects of equipment operation.
？ Supervise and assist client’s contractors in building IMAX screen frame structure, speaker rigging & aiming.
？ Complete and return installation documentation provided by Project Manager immediately after installation. All documents are to be accurately and fully completed.
？ Installation Supervisor can require extensive travel for up to 2-6 weeks at a time.
？ Writing technical documentation & procedures for IMAX equipment installation.
？ On call troubleshooting & support of other Installation Supervisors
？ Complete commissioning reviews with IMAX Technical Support.
？ This position will also include some 24/7 on call support off regular business hours.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

？ A preference for four years (but a minimum of two) at the university, college, or technical school level or significant job related experience and specialized training in engineering/electronics with a strong computer background.
？ Strong English verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of other languages is a valuable asset.
？ Education or knowledge of high performance computer systems, and / or digital audio Video systems
？ Proficient computer skills (MS office, ACAD, Windows OS)
？ Will need to have an understanding of windows registry be able to use the Unix command line. Perform basic Unix and windows system administration,


Qualifications & Skills

？ Good communication skill including communication with client and his contractors on site.
？ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to function in a high pressure deadline driven environment
？ Knowledge and experience with health and safety requirements on a construction site.
？ Ability to interpret blueprints, and electrical schematics
？ Must be able to work comfortably working at heights in excess of 15 meters.
？ Experience with High Performance Audio Systems
？ Ability to use FTP, telnet and SSH.
？ Valid Passport and the ability to obtain authorization to travel and work in countries where IMAX conducts business

Physical Requirements

？ Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
？ Ability to work shifts, holidays and weekends
？ Ability to climb scaffolding to heights of 15 meters
？ Ability to lift 25KG.

Preferred Skills

？ Experience with high performance audio systems
？ Projector or film presentation experience would a asset
？ Construction / theatrical Rigging experience
？ Knowledge of basic scripting, example DOS batch files
？ Experience with Servo drive, PLC, or motor control systems
