1. Responsible for advanced software development and successful delivery of assigned functions to meet corporate project/product commitments. Work includes: functional software specifications, design, coding, testing, integration, customer testing and delivery. Performs software design while ensuring system criteria are met.
2. Acts as technical lead on specification, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software for one or more functions of a technical area.
3. Consults with other technical leads to ensure that project-related system design guidelines are being followed. Responsible for writing Functional Software Designs.
4. Provides input to technical lead on schedules and cost estimates.
5. Interfaces with customers on general and specific issues within area of functional expertise.
6. Provides marketing support for proposals and demonstrations to potential customers.
7. Ensures quality assurance standards and procedures are followed in all aspects of software development.
8. Mentors interns and junior staff.
9. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.


Experience
Describe the knowledge and experience required for this role.
1. Requires seven (7) years development or project delivery experience in related field.
2. Excellent programming skills in C++, Java or other related language, as required. Good understanding of database operation.
3. Excellent knowledge of assigned technical area and a strong overview of the EMS, DMS and/or Market System software.
4. Strong knowledge of customer perspective and needs.
5. Strong knowledge of utility industry practices.
6. Proven software design skills at the application and technical area level.
7. Ability to see integration issues and to preclude schedule impacts.
8. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to write professional and technical reports and procedures. Ability to make formal and informal presentation to technical and non-technical staff and customers.
