Job Purpose:
The Business Analyst will work with the executive team, technology department and all areas of the company to understand and implement company-wide initiatives. The analyst must be comfortable working on multiple initiatives at one time and must have expertise in one or administrative system. The analyst will play an active role in project life cycles by reviewing issues and providing recommendations and resolutions. In this role, the analyst will represent the business unit on projects and must have experience in writing business requirements and test plans, which can be executed, plan and evaluated for results tested.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Able to lead and facilitate business process mapping and use business processes as a starting point to perform gap analysis, identify and manage requirements, postulate solutions, and creatively look at alternatives to proposed technical solutions. Understands business processes for assigned business functions and the relationships between those processes and information systems, including the impact of system changes to business processes. Able to determine the impact of system change to the business and vice versa. Present new system modifications to business users as appropriate.
2.? Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
3.? Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
4.? Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
5.? Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
6.? Understand and manage organizational change.
7.? Support the presentation of information gathered back to the business clients in the format of business requirement documents, use cases, and/or screen designs.
8.? Query and occasionally update a mysql database effectively and accurately.
9.? Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and manage a log of these conflicts and data points to insure that this information is corrected in a timely manner and escalated when necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Professional Characteristics
1.? 2-5 years’ experience in a related industry or field
2.? A minimum of 2 years increasing experience in a technical business analyst role. Proven track record of gathering, writing and managing highly complex requirements for large application development projects.
3.? Critical thinking
4.? Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment
5.? Excellent verbal and good written communication skills
6.? Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
7.? Ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis
8.? Business case development
9.? Ability to multitask under tight deadlines
Technical / Educational Requirements
1.? Bachelor’s degree in business/statistics/computer science preferred
2.? Experience analyzing, documenting, and managing requirements within various SDLCs (e.g, Waterfall and interactive methodologies such as Agile).
3.? SQL experience preferred
