This position will focus on heat transfer and fluids supporting the mechanical design of electronics cooling systems, specifically single and 2 phase cooling of high power electronics. Key responsibilities include supporting mechanical development activities such as design, analysis, and manufacturability. The role will cover a focused set of responsibilities and the selected candidate should have experience in the following areas: in-depth heat transfer and thermal-hydraulics analysis, computational fluid dynamics, fluid system design – especially cooling systems. (i.e., flow balancing, fluid compatibility, and material selection).
Specific Responsibilities
? Collect, interpret and negotiate customer requirements, and manage/track them internally;
? Act as Technical customer interface for Chinese customers and provide technical support to North American (NA) sales team;
? Support/Lead technical discussions with OEMs throughout development lifecycle (e.g. DFMEA,
Thermal Analysis);
? Participate in Quality/Warranty investigations when issues arise;
? Act as primary interface between Chinese customers and NA team;
? Create and maintain local project documentation and administer design change requests as necessary;
? Monitor, control and communicate progress versus project timeline and objectives with management;
? Create and Maintain Test Plans (Thermal, Structure and Environmental) per customer requirements;
? Coordinate internal and external test facilities;
? Negotiate customer acceptance of test results.
Qualifications & Experience
? We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor or Master degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
? In addition, a minimum of 3 years of recent mechanical design engineering with electronics cooling experience is highly desirable.
? Specific EV or Renewable Energy experience is preferred but not a prerequisite.
? Experience with configuration management, SolidWorks, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) codes (e.g., FlowWorks) is preferred.
? ISO 9001 knowledge and Lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
