United Technologies Research Center (China) Ltd. invites qualified individuals to apply for the following position in the Shanghai office. This position will compensate the chosen candidate at competitive local Shanghai market wage rate, and benefits will be administered based on local Shanghai benefit practices.

Associate Staff Engineer: Thermo-Fluid System Dynamic Modeling

Job Description:
? Provide expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics and thermal management system analysis in the development of next generation high efficiency and environmentally friendly HVAC/R and energy systems.
? Lead control-oriented thermo-fluid system dynamic modeling, including physics-based model development, model calibration, model validation and analyses.
? Participate in global multidisciplinary projects, ensuring on-time and high quality deliverables.
? Identify and develop new opportunities with UTC business units focusing on both new technology validation and product development.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
? MS or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical or Control Engineering with 3+ year experience.
? Fluent English (both written and spoken) and excellent communication skills.
? Heat transfer and two-phase flow expertise and thermodynamic cycle analytical skills.
? Experience with vapor-compression refrigeration or power generation systems including related components: heat exchangers and compression technologies.
? Project execution and leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
? MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Control Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
? Expertise in model development software tools like Dymola, Matlab/Simulink.
? Experience in thermo-fluid system control development
? Demonstrated ability to lead and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
? Solid technical writing, presentation, project management and communication skills.
? Strong leadership skills and an entrepreneurial attitude towards innovation.
