Position Summary

NYU Shanghai Student Mobility team offers mobility services to students, including inbound visa affairs, outbound visa application and Chinese resources. This position will serve as the school official interacting with Entry-Exit Bureau and Shanghai municipal education committee to prepare the Form JW202 and other relevant visa documents which helps international students to get student visa to China. This position will advise international students directly regarding obtaining and maintaining their student status during their enrolled with NYU Shanghai.

Additionally, this position will also provide advice and support to Chinese students on Military Training, Personal Dossier, HuKou and other relevant Chinese resources, as well as mindful considerations and best practices for the University.


Responsibilities
Inbound Visa Support
? Perform the inbound visa official duties. Some of these include producing the NYU Shanghai Admission Notice, JW202 form and other relevant documents which helps students to get a visa or maintain their student status; assisting students via phone, email and face-to- face contact with obtaining and successfully maintaining their visa status; Temporary Residence Registration; Off campus internship registration; assisting students on residence permit application and status change;
? Assist in further educating administration and maintaining compliance with the government, University, and China immigration policies and regulations. Ensure orientation occurs for all international students and acquaint students with resources and procedures that could be helpful to their acclimation;
? Assist with the standardization and centralization of student data, required documents, instructions/guidelines, and departmental policies in accordance with government, university and China immigration law and policies;
? Perform other duties as assigned.
Chinese resources Support
? Serve as the primary contact for students with regard to the production and replacement of the NYU Shanghai student ID booklet;
? Serve as the primary contact for students regarding the Personal dossier acceptance and maintenance;
? Assist in the Chinese students Military Training.


Qualification
Required:
? Bachelor degree or above
? CPC member
? Fluent in both Chinese and English
? Effective communication and writing skills
? Attention to detail and accuracy
? Excellent skills of Microsoft Word and Excel
? Approachable and student-friendly demeanor

Preferred:
? Work experience in a higher education environment
? Work experience on communication with government
? Knowledge of China Immigration laws and policies
? Knowledge of Chinese universities’ practices on Military Training, Chinese hukou
