Summary of Primary Role
The Business Development Manager – [region], EMIS is responsible for increasing revenue and uncovering new, high margin opportunities to grow the Emerging Markets Information Service (EMIS) business. EMIS will be accountable for achieving a monthly Gross Sales target, as well as a cumulative Return-on-Investment (ROI) target. This will be achieved via cold calls, networking, managing incoming leads, and organically growing the existing EMIS business.
Key Responsibilities
? Understand EMIS’s client types including Corporate firms, financial institutions and government institutions and demonstrate the value of EMIS’s services across each type
? Understand EMIS’s value proposition across the entire suite of EMIS Service (EMIS product contents, vendor contents, macroeconomic reports, industry statistics and reports, company information )
? Engage with prospective clients developing strong relationships to better understand their broader research needs and explore cross-selling opportunities
? Collaborate with the entire global China sales team to help achieve firm revenue / sales targets at various stages of sales cycle including generating and qualifying leads, offering trial access to clients and prepare proposal
? Develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals
Skills
? Solid understanding of database selling in different markets
? Demonstrable ability to generate and follow up on business leads effectively with excellent networking skills
? Proven sales background preferably in telesales and have experience in making cold call to set up client meeting
? Proven experience in communicating effectively and building relationships quickly over the phone
? Possesses basic knowledge of sales techniques and database selling
? Self-motivated individual with strong time management skills and attention to detail
? Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
Qualifications
? Be Self-starter, highly motivated and commercially aware
? 5-8 years of experience in B2B Sales with proven results within a commercially driven environment
? Excellent in organizational, communicational & negotiation skills
? Fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin essential
? Previous experience in information, financial analytics or research industry is beneficial but not essential
