Job description
Take the key role in overseeing all Product Portfolio and Product Development Process, installing new systems and ways of working tailored to business needs.
The Product Innovation Manager will be responsible for managing the product throughout the product lifecycle from planning to execution in support of organizational strategy and objectives.
RESPONSIBLITIES & OBJECTIVES
Research and Analysis
· research and analyze market conditions
· identify key competitor and consumer trends
· articulate market requirements and opportunities
· identify opportunities for product innovation and product enhancements
· work with R&D regarding product development
Product Planning and Management
· Full ownership of NPI process liaising with Sourcing, Logistics, Marketing and Sales.
· determine product specifications and definition
· define the long term strategy of the product and create product road map
· prepare product documents including Market Requirement Documents and product use cases to drive product activity
· develop pricing strategies and product policies with Sourcing team
· determine product packaging solutions with Sourcing and Design
· negotiate with suppliers as required
· oversee product development
· manage and communicate with cross functional teams
· Participate in weekly New Product Development meeting with Founder bringing new ideas and actively contributing to development as a whole
Product Marketing
· develop product marketing plan and event campaigns to generate product awareness and demand
· plan product launch distribution with Suzhou manufacturing to US and EU Distribution Centers
· support sales and marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise
· conduct product presentations
· help develop sales tools and sales training material
· provide input for marketing collateral development
· supply sales with latest research and marketing information
· implement marketing plan in conjunction with all departments
· drive ongoing improvement in sales and profitability
Customer and End-User Support
· manage product-related support, feedback and inquiries from users
· co-ordinate market research to track customer and end-user feedback
· monitor product inventory and update portfolio as required
· use market feedback to inform product refinements and ongoing development
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum 5+ years of experience in a corporate or agency setting, preferably with cross-functional exposure to product Portfolio management, project management and other related functions – or surprise us with your background all together
· Strategic and quantitative business analysis skills, based on demonstrable experience
· Fluent English a must with fluency in other languages and cultures preferred
· Desire to challenge the existing beauty industry and a healthy disrespect for the impossible
