MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for supplier approval and development processes for China suppliers within Rotork Gears division including:

· Approval and development of new suppliers to meet project timeline.

· Managing supplier activities for new product introduction (R&D projects) to meet project time line.

· Establishing an effective and efficient sample approval process with setting process KPIs.

· Improving supplier performance by setting of PPM targets and establishing improvement plans.

The role involves working with:

· Local and overseas sourcing/purchasing departments to identify potential new suppliers and to develop existing suppliers.

· Local and overseas quality and manufacturing personnel to identify areas for supplier improvement

Responsible for managing and motivating a team of SQEs to ensure that Rotork Gears supplier quality management goals are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Establish and maintain procedures for supplier selection and approval

2. Establish and maintain procedures for New Product Introduction - Supplier Activities

3. Establish and maintain processes and procedures to ensure supplier conformance

4. Introduction of efficient, effective and documented working practices at sub-contractors to drive continuous improvement.

5. Co-ordinate, implement and maintain the sub-contractor audit programme

6. Communicate with Design Engineers and suppliers to clarify the materials standards and specifications.

7. Contribution to new/revised product designs

8. Regularly report to management on supplier quality performance, including PPM, process yield, quality system maintenance, audit results etc.

It is essential to have command of both Chinese and English, spoken and written.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

· A bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical / electronic engineering or statistical applications;

· Graduated from well recognised universities is preferred;

· A diploma or certificate of advanced ISO auditing program

· Certified ISO auditor

Education and Experience

· At least 7 years' experience in quality function in manufacturing company preferably in a related industry with at least 5 years in supplier quality management and 3 years supervisory experience.

· Must have firsthand knowledge of ISO9001 requirements for control of documents, internal audits, control of product and processes (manufacturing), production inspection, control of non conforming product and measuring devices.

· Must have firsthand experience of PPAP process

· Familiar with Lean Manufacturing Tools or 6 Sigma

· Experience in implementing supplier improvement initiatives with proven success

· Strong background in ductile and cast Iron foundries and machining processes

· Competence with computerized analytical tools including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Access
