POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY STATEMENT (defines the major functions/purpose of the position):
Working under the leadership of the Deckers Beijing HR Manager, and in partnership with the regional and global Deckers HR and retail team, the L&D Advisor is responsible for the execution of HR operations with Learning & Development focused that enables the achievement of the goals for UGG Australia retail in China, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operations. Primary focus is to train, coach, develop and manage talented resources at both the head office and retail stores that deliver high performance, engagement, brand representative and customer service excellence. Central to the role is the establishment and fostering of the Deckers learning culture and delivery of the Learning & Development offer at retail whilst embracing China customs. All HR practices for UGG China retail are to be aligned to the Deckers HR practices and timelines.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (position titles directly reporting to this position):

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Interactions internally with the retail management team at UGG China and the global UGG Australia retail team. Close working relationship with the regional and global Deckers Retail HR team. Interactions externally with training vendors.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES & FUNCTIONS:
Deliver Deckers Asia Pacific and Global Learning Program40%: Act as a primary source of expertise and assurance to deliver Deckers Asia Pacific and Global Learning Processes, like delivery of Global Retail leadership
Training Programme. Provide regular and effective communication on the progress.
Talent Development Processes20%: Develop a clear focus on training delivery on people capacity building, and work with other tools or processes in talent development process and ensure full alignment and effective delivery on the overall Learning & Development in UGG China. Embed understanding and utilization of the Talent Development Processes and tools in UGG China and act as a coach to function managers and store manager in the process.
Develop demand based learning plans at a strategic and individual level10%: Work closely with the retail management team at UGG China and global UGG retail team to develop and implement a learning & development offer, focused on both leadership essential, retail functional capabilities and individual effectiveness. Identify specific capability needs and gaps using Global Competency Model as a tool, propose and deliver solutions to close them, establish implementation plans and set up KPIs to monitor progress.
New Hire Orientation10%: Engender the Deckers culture and values through all new hires experiencing a world class orientation to empower employees and give them a sense of pride in working for UGG China team and UGG Australia brand. Deliver the global retail UGG Australia new hire orientation programme providing new hires with the company, brand and role knowledge to succeed and engender high performance and high engagement.
Facilitate leadership development processes10%: To work closely with Global Deckers Retail HR team and the Deckers Asia Pacific regional HR community, facilitate global leadership development processes to drive a leadership culture within UGG China.
Act as an expert for effective Programme and Training Vendor procurement10%: Knowledge building of the training vendors and programmes with reputation, both in programme content and consultants. Effectively manage the fit-for-purpose evaluation and customization as appropriate for relevant training vendor procurement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the required qualifications an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree, with relevant renowned instructor certificate preferred.
At least 10+ years of HR generalist experience with a retail operating or consumer business as a business partner, among which at least 5+ years in Learning and Development functions.
Knowledge of training programmes and consultants in the market, and best practice with a strong network of contacts for external HR business partnership relationships.
Demonstrated ability at leading and driving implementations of Learning and Development processes and ensure operational execution.
The ability to think proactively, creatively and be solution based.
Strong coaching, facilitation and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively with remote organisational and strong teamwork skills with local, regional and virtual team communities.
Experience of working in a fast paced new business start up environment and for a global company with corporate structure and policies and procedures.
Proficient verbal and written Mandarin and English.
Proficient in Microsoft Applications, especially in Powerpoint.
Travel within China.
