Duties and Responsibilities

• Build a strategic vendor base for prioritized key categories.
• Source, evaluate, and select vendors, assess vendors ability: ship on time, provide quality goods, and to produce  their products at costs that meet the economic requirements 
• Drive and manage product categories from sourcing of suitable, qualified vendors through product costing,sampling, and quality testing.
• Identify new products that would enhance the opportunity of increasing volume.
• Complete all sourcing activities in a timely  manner and driving efficiencies whenever possible.
• Create quality standard by working with Quality Engineer and vendors.
• Provide competitor insight by visiting existing / new vendors and first-hand knowledge.
• Coordinate with other teams (Quality team, Order Management team, 3rd party service providers) to meet all the requirement for the shipment and problem solving.
• Collaborate with US team on daily basis

    Job Qualifications – Education and Experience

    

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant and progressive merchandising experience in retail industry or 3+ years’ experience in project management and/or new product development role.
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Experience in houseware will be preferred.
• Experience in a product management or  purchasing role with a demonstrated ability to drive product development.  Knowledge of houseware will be a plus.
• Considerable attention to detail and sense of urgency to ensure all the follow up and problem solving in a timely manner
• Sourcing merchandise through new and existing vendors, trips and tradeshows
• Strong English written and oral proficiency is a must
• Must be proficient with computers and automated process and systems
• Ideal candidate must be a self-starter, results driven. 
• Collaborative team  style, and ability to quickly adapt to changes in priorities.
