Position: Process Engineering

Reports: Engineering Manager

Supervises: N/A

Qualifications:

Post Secondary Education &/or minimum 5 years work experience in process engineering in a manufacturing field

Must have working knowledge of machining practices, tooling principles, fixture gauging requirements, design, geometric tolerance, plant layout, problem solving methodology, project management, time and machine studies, APQP, DFMEA / PFMEA / Control Plans, ISO/QS/TS Stds

Duties & Responsibilities:

a) Manufact. Eng.

Equipment selection and recommendation

Plant Layout participation

Project Planning and resource evaluation/recommendation

Special Projects – Capital Studies

b) Design

Material Handling Systems

Automation

Mistake Proofing

Coordination and Review of above

c) Admin.

Submission of data for Requests for Quotation

Project management with timelines

d) Support

Problem Solving: Production and Maintenance

Purchasing

Training

TS19649, QS9000 and ISO14001 Standards

Maintain and continue improvements

Legal requirements met

e) Capital Budget

Maintain budgets on all plant projects

Control expenditures to meet budgets

Prepare capital requests and ROI’s

Recommend allocation of capital

f) Technology

Technology changes and improvements

Apply technology in new processes and methodologies

Develop deployment plans to suit

g) Prototypes

Quote

Tooling

Costing to meet Budget / Quote

Monitor production runs and evaluate to plan

h) Industrial

Ergonomic guidelines

Establish standards
