As FAE in the IP Solutions Department, the candidate’s main job function is to provide application support for common industry IPs (e.g. DDR, USB, PCIe, ..) to internal design teams and customers.

Major responsibilities:

1. Internal support:

Using his/her in-depth knowledge of common industry IPs:

i. Assist internal design team to integrate IP smoothly into SoC.

ii. Assist internal design team to make optimized test plan for mass production.

iii. Assist test and product engineers to bring-up ES on ATE.

2. External support:

Using his/her in-depth knowledge of common industry IPs:

1. Assist customer bringing up SoC on their system by providing guidance on IP usage and setting.
2. If there is any issue bringing-up the SoC due to the IP, the candidate will act as leader working with internal experts of circuit and physical design and IP vendors to determine the root cause and find a solution.

Job Requirement:

BS/MS in electrical engineering or computer science

3+ years of application support experience with at least one common industry IP (e.g. DDR, USB, PCIe, MIPI, high speed IO, ….)

- Good understanding of protocol and usage of at least one common industry IP (e.g. DDR, USB, PCIe, MIPI, high speed IO, ….)

- Some knowledge of circuit design preferred (but not a must). For examples:

o High speed interface circuit (I/O and high speed logic) such as serial link (e.g. PCIE, SATA, USB, MIPI) and parallel link (DDR).

o Clock management. (PLL)

o Data converter. (ADC/DAC)

o Power management. (LDO)

- Some knowledge of logic and physical design preferred (but not a must).

- Appreciate the challenges of mastering many common industry IPs to provide application support to internal teams and customers.

- Good interface and communication skills – need to communicate with customer to provide IP support and understand IP bring-up issue, if any.

- Good teamwork and leadership skill – need to lead a team of experts to solve customer’s IP bring-up issues
