Description:

The primary function of the Drug Metabolism Scientist is to conduct metabolite identification experiments using LC-UV-MS, develop methods, generate and interpret scientific data under minimum supervision. The Scientist must have enough experience to be able to work independently. The Scientist will troubleshoot problems and make a significant contribution to the practical delivery of projects by applying basic understanding of drug metabolism and bioanalytical knowledge and skills.


Major Responsibilities:

To support experimental plans and perform agreed experimental procedures
May be responsible for and ensure that the results of own experiments are recorded accurately and reported to a high standard in accordance with external and internal regulations
To be an effective team member in supporting projects to meet their objectives
To identify and solve problems associated with their experiments and discuss with other team members
To gain and understand, if appropriate for the discipline, an intellectual property strategy for the project and its significance in securing the client's position
To possess a range of practical skills and demonstrate flexibility within and across teams
To effectively communicate results to other members of the project, team, and section or to other Departments as required

Minimum Requirements

MS or BS with 3 years industry experience.
Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry or academic research laboratory preferred.

Skills and Competencies

The individual should have experience and knowledge in several of the following areas:

Hands-on experience with HPLC-UV-MS
Experience with structure elucidation
Biofluid and tissue sample analysis
LCMS data analysis and report preparation
Communication in English

Preferred Background

Experience in small molecule drug discovery and development process and familiarity with drug metabolite identification.
Quantitative and qualitive bioanalytical experience.
