Job Purpose
To provide broking services for an allocated portfolio of clients and to ensure business is retained and
developed.
Job Description
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Provide day to day servicing of a client's insurance programme to support retention and development of
the business.
2. Identify the risk exposures and advise on insurance and risk management solutions in consultation with
the Division Director/Producer.
3. Place insurance covers for clients in accordance with Lockton strategy.
4. Effective and timely management of all renewals to ensure completion by the due date.
5. Provide support to the Division Director, Producers and other team members in the overall servicing of
the client's insurance programme.
6. Obtain quotations for new and renewal business as required by the Division Director/Producer.
7. Deal effectively (and to the satisfaction of the client and the market) with queries, including but not
limited to changes in cover and risk.
8. Assist with the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures in the Division.
9. Comply with Lockton procedures and regulatory requirements.
Competencies
1. Strong working knowledge of the relevant classes of insurance.
2. Strong understanding of the legal principles applicable to insurance.
3. Strong understanding of insurer rating methods for the relevant classes of insurance.
4. Strong working knowledge of regulations and guidelines.
5. Knowledge of how to implement and manage fleet insurance programmes, working with a network of
offices, to ensure seamless service delivery.
6. Able to build and maintain good business relationships with clients, insurers and Associates.
7. Able to identify opportunities for business development.
8. Extensive experience in marketing and servicing the insurance needs of clients.
9. Knowledge of the resources available within Lockton and how to source such services.
10. Willing and able to continue to develop product knowledge and related issues through formal and
informal learning, both internal and external to the Company.
11. Good working knowledge of computer desktop software provided by Lockton.
12. Able to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients, insurers and
other Associates.
13. Able to manage time, prioritise and ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.
14. Able to prepare broking presentations that accurately reflects the cover required and meets the clients'
demands and needs.
15. Demonstrate an understanding of when to proceed alone and when to involve the appropriate Associate.
16. Able to prepare and interpret claims experience and analysis including the impact of deductibles and
cover variations.
17. Analytical and problem-solving skills, including research and investigation.
18. Thorough understanding of and adherence to Lockton standards and procedures.
19. Strong understanding of clients' business issues, insurance needs and expectations.
20. Strong working knowledge of insurer products and specialties.
21. Full understanding of the concept, issues and overall impact of market pricing.
22. Good understanding of Lockton cash collection processes including but not limited to general insurance
accounting and client invoicing.
23. Professional and tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
24. Work in support of other team colleagues.
