Position Description:
Anticipate the policy changes and understand its impact to GM’s business. Advocate GM’s position through the well maintained and developed relationship network with the key government agencies and associations to benefit GM’s business in China.
Responsibilities
? Maintain and develop strong government relationship
? Contact with the various levels of government personnel, research institute, thinking tanks who are responsible for enacting and administering laws, regulations, and policies on issues involving auto industry, foreign investment, tax, trade, and other related policies and regulations.
? Arrange regular GM China management meeting with government.
? Support functional departments’ communication needs with the relative government agencies.
? Anticipate policy changes to support GM’s business
? Closely monitor changes on industry, distribution and FDI related polices.
? Timely communicate with the functional teams and JVs on the policy changes.
? Work closely with the functional teams and JVs to understand impact to GM and form GM’s position.
? Work with think-tanks and industry associations to proactively influence inputs into government decision-making activities.
? Support GM China regular communication with JVs
? Identify discussion topics, prepare presentations
? Work closely with JVs to line up position and understand implication
? Support JVs’ business needs
? Monitor China political and economic environment trend and analyze its impact to GM
? Understand China’s political and economic environment and keep management updated on the new or potential changes.
? Analyze the impact to GM’s business
Qualifications
? Knowledge:
? Familiar with Chinese government organizations
? Familiar with government’s policy and directions
? Work experience in government entities is preferred
? Skills:
? Fluent in both Chinese and English
? Good writing skill and presentation skill
? Excellent computer skills
? Experience/Education:
? Bachelor Degree or above
? At least 5 year working experience in auto sector or government relation
Competencies:
? High level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
? Ability to lead and manage the program
? Self-motivated, strong sense of responsibility and good at problem solving in urgent cases.
? Dedicated, results driven, accountable
? Self-disciplined in dealing with confidential information
? Strong sense of compliance
? Work under time constraints and have the ability to work both independently and in a team.
? Good team player willing to do a wide-range of tasks
