Responsibilities:
Your Job
You will manage the Chromatography team that consists of, at present, 2 people and is working on many subjects using expertises clustered around:
？ Gas chromatography techniques,
？ Liquid chromatography techniques (a.o. HPLC, UPLC, SEC)
？ Mass spectrometry techniques and ？ Titration
Your responsibilities
？ Ensure that all work is done according to AkzoNobel HSE standards
？ Responsible for expertise and resource management within the team:
o Recruitment
o People management (talent management, coaching, performance and development)
o Maintaining top level expertise
o Alignment with business needs
o Knowledge management o Quality o Balancing demand & capacity
o Task allocation
？ Managing and carrying out projects in which the team is involved
？ Acting as an expertise coordinator keeping in touch with universities, research institutes, and company R&D groups
？ Stimulation and initiation of innovative research within and across expertise areas, in close cooperation with other team leaders
？ Acquisition of Business Unit related projects and relation management with stakeholders
？ Reporting to Measurement & Analytical Science Team Leader, ECG China
Requirements:
Your profile
Combination of professional excellence and management skills:
？ A masters degree or PhD in Physical or Analytical Chemistry
？ Being an expert in at least one of the main expertises of the team with at least 5 years of relevant experience
？ Project management experience
？ Strong leadership skills
？ Skills to be a leading person in the promotion and implementation of new knowledge
？ Excellent communication skills, enabling you to both motivate team members and to be effective in initiating contacts, advising people and reporting on the progress of projects and results
？ Result-oriented mindset that puts the client first
？ Fluent in English
？ Well-developed network with the appropriate parties inside and outside AkzoNobel
