Responsibilities:
Reports to: Measurement & Analytical Science Sub-Team Leader
Carry out AkzoNobel innovative projects, support AkzoNobel Coatings and Chemicals businesses in Asia by implementing individual pieces of work, and develop the overall capability of the research base of AkzoNobel in the area of Measurement & Analytical Science. The overall goal is to provide innovations and measurement support to the AkzoNobel businesses.
Key Accountabilities:
1. An experimental scientist who has the ability to conduct multi-technology measurement tasks with a primary technical focus on measurement & analytical science and the operational experience in handling complex mixtures such as coatings.
2. To conduct research work professionally, scientifically, and delivery outcomes in a timely manner. This includes defining objectives, drafting plans, reviewing progress, monitoring results, and generating reports.
3. To ensure all activities in the area of responsibility are conducted under the guidelines of AkzoNobel's safety policy.
4. To write necessary reports, technical plans, and other internal correspondence to ensure appropriate project and business communications.
5. To work collaboratively with global AkzoNobel technical network to keep a consistent quality of work and an up-to-date knowledge of measurement development in AkzoNobel.
6. To act as the key contact person with a local/regional AkzoNobel business to support their development activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum Masters Degree in Chemistry or related subject areas with minimum 3 years of experience in measurement & analytical science
- Experience with analysis of chemicals, polymers and coatings
- A broad knowledge of measurement & analytical science is preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in both English and Chinese - Proficient in computer applications
