Essential Responsibilities

• Support business needs by framing the UL regulatory environment (outside-in) and building contingency plans that allow SABIC to meet customer & regulatory compliance needs. • Manage China Quality Center (CQC) non-metallic material certification process for the global Innovative Plastics business, including communications with SABIC-IP commercial & technology teams, CQC submission process and facilitating material certification tests in CQC labs. • Manage UL Follow-Up Service process for the Asia/Pacific pole by leading cross-functional team members to fulfill root cause and corrective action efforts. • Evaluate and communicate UL requirements for new product formulations, formulation changes, raw material substitutions and site translations for UL Recognized products in the Asia/Pacific pole. • Manage and coordinate UL test programs to support existing business and to enable business growth. • Actively participate as a remote member of the global UL Agency Team located in Bangalore, India. • Work with UL team in India team to drive continuous process improvement, implementation of global best-practices and present a unified voice to external UL contacts.

Qualifications/Requirements

To qualify, applicants must have a B.S. in Materials/Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline. The applicant will combine fundamental understanding of polymer chemistry, structure/property relationships and polymeric materials testing along with UL Standards knowledge to fulfill responsibilities. The successful candidate will be considered the key contact and subject matter expert for UL compliance to all Strategic Business Units (SBU’s) in the Asia/Pacific pole. Additional requirements for this position are:• Must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.• Strong interpersonal, influencing and organizational skills.• Strong technical problem solving skills.• Non-traditional, flexible working hours to engage peers & stakeholders in different time zones. • Occasional business travel.
